the thing I LOVED about it was this: we couldn't have SCRIPTED a more painful way for them to lose....couldn't have made it up gents. This was a dagger with a twist and a half. They were MUCH better than the saints but choked it away. Karma, is indeed a ******.

I hope no grudge on the Vikes and have never hated Favre. I have the feeling he will return next year he still has the physical abilities to play the position at a high level. As for the critical int he threw it was a major mistake in his part but without Brett I don't think the Vikes make it as far as they did.

Funny...but I never held a grudge against him until he threw the late td against us last week and laughed about it...who's laughing now? _______________ him.

I was rooting for the Vikings with my thought being, I wanted them to lose the most painful game possible...and that would be, the super bowl.

But when I saw that last pass by Favre, I immediately started rooting for the Saints.

What good fun that was!

In the age of ESPN highlights, Favre was a big time QB because all of his whacky great plays made it to the show.

But I've always felt he was highly overrated.

If you feel Jackson is the future personally I don’t. I think Minn should try and bring back Brett and look for a QB with their 1st selection who can sit for a season behind Brett.

Interesting that people are still "sour" over the Vikings running up the score on the Cowboys.

Childress' team played hard and was in the game against the New Orleans Saints from start to finish.

The same cannot be said for the Dallas Cowboys who were thoroughly dominated, looked unprepared and lacked any type of "situational" game plan.

'Twas the curse of the Cowboys. It was the "sand in the face" touchdown that brought on the curse. Repent you Viking slime!!!

From a Minn perspective, that would make the most sense.

Childress better start kissing Favre's butt - it's only 8 months until pre-season. :laugh2:

I don't think he will have to. I think yesterdays loss is going to be a tough pill for Brett to swallow and I think he knows how close the Vikes are. Face it they have some very good talent on that team and can make another run next season. Brett's physical skill still look good to me, there are many QB's who are younger that do not have the arm of Brett. If Minn is smart they do look to the future with a high draft at QB and have them sit a season

Jackson sure ain't the answer but Brett just took a year away from something else happening... lol :laugh2:

the point is Brett is just a tease at this point. They had to win it all to justify Favre.

I really wonder though how much more Favre's body can endure? All those hits really start piling up.

I think Aikman alluded to it during the telecast yesterday. Favre looked totally worn down leading up the NO game. Of course, it's to be expected at his age and playing a full season. Next season the effects of the hits are going to cumulatively increase, esp at his age.

I honestly don't see Favre being as successful next season as he was this season - including because the other teams in his conference should also make strides.

Anyway, you make good points. I guess we'll see. But after watching him get beat up vs. NO and the expression on his wife's face, I really felt that there was no need to put his body through that again at his age.

That is media BS talk. They took nothing away, they did not have a decent QB and Brett gave them that. Without Brett I doubt they advance as far as they did. I do think it is a mistake if they do not look to the future at QB this year. But If I'm Minn I would welcome Brett back with open arms for 1 more season.

He got up and kept playing. I'm sure he is going to give this some thought but in the end I think the competitor will come out and he will not want to leave being that close to his goal with the talent that is in place in Minn.

Dominated, what game were you watching?

We shut them out in the 3rd quarter, and only trailed by 14 going into the 4th.

The final score turned out bad, but I never felt they dominated us throughout the game.

I'll wholeheardedly agree with that. In fact had we made our gimme FGs we would only be trailing by 8 in the 4th Qtr. And had Sensabeaug turned around to catch the sure pick - the duck Favre threw for the ist TD - this is a MUCH MUCH different game. (So much for the Mighty Favre running away with hte game like everyone wanted to pretend was the case).

And had Our offense had any contingency plans for dealing with OL losses (Not only Flozell, but Columbo was playing gimpy as well) it would have been a much tighter 4th quarter game. In fact were stil ltechnically in to start the 4th quarter, even with all the miscues.

And the Vikings knew it too. In fact, the only reason Childress/Favre threw that meaninless TD st the end was to make themselves feel like they dominated us. But deep down they know they hadn;t and that's the kind of doubt that gave the Saints enough fire to beat them in the game that should've counted more for the Vikings.

You think Favre wished he had saved that meaningless TD in our game for his last thro in the NFC Championship Game that ended up in a typical Duck INT?

Karma for Childress and Favre is a B**ch, and the NFC Championship LOSS could not have happened to bigger pair of JAGBAGS than these two jokes!

I watched the same game as you did.

But as with everything else, people come away with different conclusions.

I believe our Offensive Line was thoroughly dominated and the Vikings proved that they wanted to win more then we did.
