We've made this issue with david buehler into something that it isn't, at least not yet.
Has he missed some key kicks? Sure, but thats our teams fault, when you're relying on 3 points to win a game.
Buehler has missed 3 kicks this year. 2 from 40-49 yards out.
Fact is we're making it harder on this kid by not letting him do his job like most kickers around the league.
Other than this kicker in jacksonville, no kicker is really killing it from 40-49 yards out. That just isn't happening.
The miss from 30-39, yeah he should have hit that, I'm not letting him off the hook for that, but it happens.
Only half the kickers in the league have hit a field goal from 50 out this year. Buehler being one of them.
If you're not going to give him a proper chance to kick regularly, and you're only going to let him take shots when the pressure is on obviously you're setting him up for failure when he does miss.
How many times have we punted it or gone ofr it on 4th down because we didn't kick?
If you don't trust him get a different kicker in here, we've said that from the beginning. If anyone on this team can't do the job expected of them, let them go. Just remember you let nick folk go too. And he is 7-9, with a miss from 50+ and one from between 30-39.
