Roquan Smith is being over hyped. I can see the possibility of him going in the 1st round now, but top 10 or even top 5? Heck no. If he was 6'3" 250 lbs with frame to continue to add muscle while maintaining his speed and agility then maybe. Don't see him being valued as a top 10 player at 6'1" 225 lbs. Hes going to be handled by NFL O linemen if he plays anywhere but WILL in a 4-3 scheme. Maybe play strong safety if hes drafted by a team with a creative defensive coordinator

D.J. Chark

ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. is a DJ Chark believer.

In the wake of Chark’s 5-catch, 150-yard performance against Auburn, the senior is quickly making his way up Kiper’s famous Big Board. Kiper lists Chark as his top prospect on the rise, saying that it is even conceivable that he could end up being the top senior wide receiver in next year’s draft.
That doesn’t necessarily equate to Chark being the first receiver taken — that’s contingent on what juniors declare — but Kiper sees him as a legitimate talent.
LSU has had poor quarterback play since Chark has been in school, but he’s a dynamic receiver/returner who could be better in the NFL than he has been in college… He’s a big-play threat, and I like the way he creates separation late in his routes. I’d like to see him consistently high-point the ball, so he’s not a perfect prospect. He also lost a fumble against Auburn. Chark could end up being the top senior receiver in this 2018 class. I have him as a Day 2 pick at this point, and he could move up if he tests well

so maybe we go with him in the 2 or the 1 st

I thin Deon Jones success at MLB for the Falcons is helping Smith's case.

Deon Jones 6-1/222
Roquan Smith 6-1/225

Another good comparison might be fellow Georgia Bulldog Alec Ogletree, who is about 235 lbs. now, but was around 220 while in college.

The kid makes plays, should go mid to late 1st.

If Cowboys got him, I'd use him as a run down Sam, pass down Mike until Sean Lee retires. Then he becomes an every down Will.

oh I agree but made this for RandyOh - I don't think he is 6 -1 I think he's around 6 - but that does not bother me

Oh bodi. Don't get in your feelings because i brought up very reasonable points that show how highly unlikely Ro Smith is to being a top 10 pick. If anything you should be happy Ro Smith wont be taken top 10. Means their is a great chance he will be their at our pick which will be in the late teens to early 20s. We ain't picking in the top 10 so i see no reason to be upset about him most likely not being seen as a top 10 talent. whether or not we should take Ro Smith in the top 10 is a non existent issue.

Both bodi and Randy have valid points. Smith is good enough to be an every down linebacker in today’s passing league but he’s not a top 10 pick type of backer.
