I've limited my caffeine consumption to one cup of coffee a day. However, I really like coffee and would enjoy having another cup or two.

I've tried several types of decaf coffee, including Dunkin Donuts, but have found that most of them taste like crap.

Any suggestions?

I suggest going to Whole Foods and buying their decaf Columbia ($11/lb) and French Roast ($13/lb) whole beans and grind it yourself. Those two are excellent decaf coffees as good as any with caffeine.

if most taste like crap, it doesnt sound like you like coffee as much as you thought lol

Different coffees have distinct flavors just like beers do. When they extract the caffeine it changes the taste. To me, it's like sugar and artificial sweeteners. I basically gave up drinking soft drinks because I can't stand the way the diet drinks taste and a 20 once soft drink is 200-300 empty calories.

I like Faerluna; limit my coffee in take for both caffeine and the fact that I put sugar in my coffee. I can drink decaf, but usually do not just for the fact that it doesn't have the same pleasing taste as regular coffee.

This is exactly it. I love regular coffee, but decaf just doesn't have the same taste.

I also have sugar and milk in my coffee, so in the end, it's really not loads of coffee, but I can certainly tell if I have more than one cup.

I typically only drink coffee when I go to the office, but when I do, I use a cup that serves as two servings.

That's typically all I drink for the day, unless they have the nerve to schedule an afternoon meeting.

Decaf is something I've never gotten into, even tho I tried.

I'm down to two a day. Gave up sugar, too. All I add is a bit of 2% milk.

So same as de-alcohol beer ?

What's the point ?

Some people, including me, like the taste of coffee and would like to have a cup or two later in the day but don't want to stay up past their bed time.

Coffee, but that's all I ever used it for. Gave up reg soft drinks for one calorie versions, but that "aspartame" stuff concerns me.

I have a friend that has given up sugar completely and avoids dairy when possible. I don't know how she does it. Not that I overuse sugar, but it seems difficult to avoid.

i know it was supposed to be a joke, guess it wasnt that funny

Another thing you can do is to make coffee using half decaf and half caffeine. I sometimes make two cups of coffee using half decaf beans and half beans with caffeine. You can't taste the difference if you use good coffee beans.

Why are you cutting back on your caffeine? I am an extremely hyper person with or without coffee, and I still drink several cups of coffee every morning.

Is it for health reasons? If it is, they're probably caused by something else entirely. My blood pressure and everything else is perfect because I stay in shape, so if a doctor told you to cut back you'd probably be better off just losing some weight, exercising more, fixing your diet, etc.

Because we're trying to have another baby. Doctors recommend cutting back/eliminating caffeine when you are expecting, so I'm just getting a head start.
