Kinda want to cover this scenario more out of curiosity....There is a ton of talent in the 2nd round and having 2 picks in the round could be a huge boost.

Im going to say that the Lions trade up to get 1 of Martin/Rieff/Adams to sure up their LT spot. We get picks #23 and #54 from Detroit.

Pick #23- Nick Perry- OLB USC. Dallas continues the trend of drafting young talented athletes. Perry is a bit raw but a freakish athlete with more than adequate size. Huge upside for the #23 pick to be a dominant pass rusher.

Pick #45- Jayron Hosely CB Va Tech- If Hosely had 10-15 more pounds on him I think he'd be a top 25 pick. Hes a little on the small side weight wise at only 175, but that didint stop him from being a force in the ACC. Very fluid athlete with great quickness making him ideal for 1 on 1 man coverage. A play maker with 12 INTS and 2 punt return TD's the past 2 years. At worst hes a very good nickle CB, but should definitely compete to start outside.

Pick #54- Brandon Washington OG Miami- Big athletic guy at 6'4 320. Was an all ACC OG his sophomore year before moving to LT his junior year due to injury. Did a pretty decent job at LT for a guy with no experience there, but the move definitely hurt his draft stock. I think if he played OG all year he'd be picked somewhere in the early 2nd. His size, strength, and surprising quickness makes him an ideal OG at the next level.

Pick #82- Kendall Reyes DT/DE UConn- Every time I do a mock and get to the 3rd round I cant find anyone better to pick than Reyes. I think hes an ideal 5 tech with great size and athleticism. A 2 time team captain and known hard worker makes him an even better fit.

Pick #113- Michael Egnew TE Mizzu- Fits the mold of the tweener TE the NFL is moving to. Will present a lot of match up problems with defenses whether he lines up in the slot or on the line. Had 90 receptions with 782 yards as a junior. His production dropped off his senior year which makes him available in the 4th, but the value is great given his potential as playmaker.

Pick #144- Chris Galippo ILB USC- 1 of the best overall prospects in the nation as a high school senior and even won MVP in HS All-American bowl. Injuries set his college career back and hes a bit limited as an athlete, but hes a smart player with a high motor. Has the potential to be a good rotation player at ILB, especially against the run.

Pick #175- Brice Schwab OT AZ St- A coveted JuCo transfer who never really got to play much for AZ St because of injury. An absolute monster at 6'7 320 and is supposed to be a beast in the weight room. A project for sure, but hes worth a shot this late just given his size and strength.

Pick #206- Dan Persa QB Northwestern- Smart QB who is accurate and pretty athletic for a QB. His lack of height at 6 foot nothing and the fact that he played on a bad team in a good conference makes him drop very far in the draft. I think he could develop into a decent backup QB like a Chase Daniel.

I can dig it. Jayron Hosley is Virginia Tech, not South Carolina. Confusing him with Stephon Gillmore.

I don't think Brandon Washington is that far from DeCastro & Glenn. I like the pick.

Fixed. Thanks for the heads up

I like this, but if Brewster is there in the 3rd I'd like that better.

Can someone tell me what the differences between Perry and Ingram are?

Trust me I'd love to mock a C to us but I just don't see anyone there after Kronz. Brewster got abused in the senior bowl.

Ingram is 275 while Perry is around 255. Ingram has a great combo of power and explosivness. While Perry is a speed rusher with agility off the edge. Ingram also has versatility with the option of putting him on the line to rush the passer at times. Ingram also has the better body of work in college. With that said, Perry has all of the potential Ingram does, I've seen comparisons to Cameron Wake and I think they're pretty spot on.

I'm come from the school of thought that run support is an important factor for OLB in a 3-4 as well, and from it sounds like Ingram would hold up better against blockers based on size and strength. People keep wanting strictly sacks from the position Spencer played, but they don't realize he was one of the best run support linebackers in the league.

When I first saw the picks involved in the trade, I thought it was a little lopsided for us. However, I found this draft pick calculator that gives point values to each pick, and our 14th pick is worth 1,100 points and the combined points for the Detroit picks are 1,120.

Nice job on finding a realistic trade scenario.

Here's the draft pick points if anyone is interested:

I agree with you, and those are the reasons ingram will possibly be gone before we pick at 14. He's a very complete player who will be ideal for any 3-4 team ahead of us. If by chance he's available at 14 I would have no problems with Ingram, without hestitation if DeCastro is gone.

I take this especially if DeCastro is gone. I am not high on Ingram and from what I saw in the Senior Game, I was not overly impressed. It could have been I only watched the 2nd quarter and Adams was basically handling pretty good so if other people say he is better than Spencer than I will go with knowledge of him than what I have seen. Saying that, I love yur first six picks. Don't know much about the last two but good job.

I'd take that draft and not look back.

Especially love picks 2-4....well done.

I think Curry will offer the most value if a pass rusher is targeted . He looked very good last week .

I like him as well, but I saw multiple reports after practices that he was going to be limited to 4-3 DE in the pros.

Agree with this...but I'd still be very tempted to take Glenn at 20 in this scenario if he's still there.

I don't think he was given a chance to try the OLB position . I have read some scouting reports that said he would do well . If he can , I guess it will come out at the combine. He was the most impressive pass rusher at the Senior Bowl IMO .

Jayron Hosley would come in and immediately be better than Scandrick straight up. Might even be better than Jenkins, though I think Henderson will take Jenkins' skills to the next level.

It's possible he can play OLB, but when several scouts say its unlikely he can after watching him practice for a week I'm not gonna take the chance. The combine will be the final telling though.
