Decided to be a casual fan for a day

I took Thanksgiving off from being a rabid cowboy fan and just decided to be a casual fan for a day.

And I have to say my brothers it was a pleasant experience.
I didn't torture myself with wearing about where our draft position would be if we won or lost.

I didn't dwell on the fact that both teams had terrible records.

I decided not to lament The fact that both teams were starting backup quarterbacks.

I left my expectations and worries at the door and just watched the game and enjoyed it for what it was and it turned out to be a very nice experience the best all year.
I enjoyed just watching our young players grow up in front of our eyes Overshown was spectacular Micah put on a great show Rico had a great game Cooks came back and looked good. And along with Rush actually closed the game out and ended it with a first down.

Now it wasn't a game for the ages and I didn't dwell on the fact that cdlam hears footsteps and drops the ball.
But for the casual cowboy fan it was some very nice Thanksgiving entertainment and didn't leave you with any angst or indigestion.
Good win on a big holiday for our struggling team. Nice to see the guys smiling on the sideline and enjoying the win.

Wondering if anybody else took time out to just look at it this way for the holiday

This has been my attitude for the majority of the season. Its weird, but its actually been enjoyable in a different way. It really lets you look at everything without the typical fan bias and lets you get a more accurate perspective of how each individual is progressing or not.

Last 2 games have been the same for me. They have been very enjoyable. The level of effort overall has gone way up IMHO. Cut out Diggs and Martin and D Flaw and Zeke and the quality of the product goes way up.

Yep at this point in my life I have suffered through enough misery with this team for the last 30 years and don't mind cherry-picking some of the good times and just not getting so invested sometimes you just need a break from the total investment that is the Dallas Cowboys

I totally agree seeing the level of effort increase and the intensity without the pouting on the sidelines is a pleasant change.

Been doing it this for the last couple weeks and it absolutely has been the best time I've had all year, minus week 1's mirage. No stress, no concerns, just football.

I enjoyed it, two bad teams match up just as well as two good teams but with more mistakes, which themselves can be entertaining.

Its easy to do when the team isn't getting an a whipping from the get go.

And plays/players like Overshown....gives me a reason to cheer.
