I know some will interpret the press conference as verification we were targeting a CB. While that’s a possibility, I don’t think that’s what the Cowboys were saying. I think the team had multiple trade down scenarios which may have included trade downs if one of the corners were on the board at #10.

I think the trade down scenarios were if someone wanted to give us insane value to draft a QB. I think it was pretty clear that they considered CB a bigger need than ILB and would have drafted one of the corners if they fell, despite Micah being rated higher on their draft board.

They wanted the CBs. That’s pretty obvious.

Not sure if they addressed or will address the trade scenarios and if the Bears made an offer or not. Listening to it now.
And as much as I wanted and been saying all week. I wanted a trade down to around 15. But wanted a 1st round with it for 2022. I was thinking NE.

I know many will whine that we did not do that trade with the Bears. We do not know if it was offered. Jerry said something they could have tried other trades for better picks, but they did not want to lose players they had on the board.

so as much as we can sit here and say, wow, wish we could have got that 1st from the Bears, it does no good to whine or say the usual…FO sucks….or sit and whine for 5 years about it.
They got a player that can make a difference for sure as opposed to a possibility. it happened, be happy we got a very possible blue chip player.

Oh I know, I know it went like this...... Blah blah blah....... Yada Yada Yada......

Yeah I know....we aren't allowed to be upset that we passed on a first from a team that is starting Andy Dalton and stinks anyway.

Let our division rivals get that.

We truly needed to have Parsons THIS year instead, because, according to ticket sales man....THIS is the year.

Like always.

Got it.

Parsons is no more a certainty to be a "blue chip player" than anyone else from the 1st round..............And over the last half decade this front office has proven they absolutely suck when it comes to drafting defense................

The Patriots are always looking for new fans.

The bottom line is we get a free third round pick and lost absolutely nothing in doing so. Plus we got maybe the most talented defensive player in the entire draft. Yet many ***** and moan. It’s pathetic.
That third round pick, while it may make tomorrow fun....has a five percent shot at making one pro bowl in his career.

All fine if the Chicago deal wasn't there, but I can't see how it wasnt.

So we know for a fact the Bears offered us the deal?

Cb was an obvious want, but LB was an obvious choice as well given we didn't pick up LVE's option and with Sean Lee retiring. We probably go safety with that second rounder and pick up sherman to play corner for a year.

Nope. I'm suspecting.

Why wouldn't it have been there?

If I hear it definitely wasn't, all fine.

Edit....they just didn't want to go as low as 20 and lose Parsons.

That needs to be taken into account a year from now. I'm not willing to wager on us coming out ahead.

All this did was cover a past mistake.. either on 54 or 55.

That third round pick could be HOFer. It could be a solid starter. It could be a total bust. What’s your point? You can say the exact same thing about every single pick. So in your mind, should we just stop drafting after the first round? I mean, what the use, right? LOL.
