News: Deebo Samuel, 49ers agree on a three-year, $71.55 million extension

Just remember these numbers as this is what CeeDee's agent will use for his client.

Well maybe because all this money got us nowhere for more than a quarter of a century so they're changing strategy, lol. First team that wins a Superbowl with only players on their rookie contract. That'll show 'em. Moneyball anyone? :D
Amari was an elite wr. That deal was fine. He was made the scapegoat by the Jerryites we call the local Dallas Media. I cant stand them. That is 1 deal we did that I felt was working out. I am with ya on deals we have made in the past. I get it. But to broad brush all potential deals we could make as harmful or whatever is a mistake. Samuel would have been a steal if we actually could get him here, reasonably. Which was NEVER gonna happen anyway. He and DK were leveraging Dallas 2 get a deal and stay. Thats what happened. Mike Fisher called that way back. I rightfully bag on Fish but must give him credit on this one.

They changed their strategy for like 9-10 years now. There should be a happy medium between being reckless with your picks and trades, and doing next to nothing.

I agree to basically everything in this post. Amari wasn't the problem despite being a no show every now and then. And with all the cap space we have right now I'd rather still have him on the team. If Lamb can step up his game to adequately replace Cooper the gamble can pay off but we're still lacking an offensive weapon most teams put their best CBs on, which again left some room for Lamb and Gallup. Lets see how they perform without it.

But I thought they wanted to invest that free money into other good players but so far nothing has happened. I really hope they have something up their sleeves or this off season truly was a desaster.

Deebo Samuel, 49ers agree on a three-year, $71.55 million extension

The versatile wideout isn't leaving the Bay Area

There will be no in-season drama regarding Deebo Samuel and his contract. The All-Pro receiver and the 49ers have agreed to three-year, $71.55 million extension (that can reach up to $73.5 million) that includes $58.1 million guaranteed, according to ESPN and confirmed by CBS Sports Josina Anderson. The extension will make Samuel among the league's highest-paid receivers, a group that also includes Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, DeAndre Hopkins, and Cooper Kupp.
So....in addition to his extension...Samuel is just going to play wide receiver - no more lining up as a running back - as he demanded?

That’s one of the reasons Coop is gone.

Best guess is 5 years /140 mill

I like Ceedee and hope he kills it. But there is zero chance that he gets that type of contract until he shows he can be as productive as Deebo. Ceedee struggled without Amari last season so this will be the year he can prove himself.

Cowboys are so bad gave up amari for peanuts on a manageable deal
Ran him out of town, smeared him falsely. It was sickening. The pandering local Dallas media orchestrated it side by side with the Joneses. This might haunt us if Ceedee isnt what we think. Mike Fisher stands by it. That guy is a pitiful journalist. He may as well wear a pig snout, rubber pig ears ,PIG TAIL, get on all fours for Jerry & Son and let them take turns on him. Cuz what he did was pimped himself out. What he helped do to Amari was on that level. Dirty as heck. Amari was done dirty. Mike Fisher is unapologetic 2 this day for running the narrative that Amari was lazy. That wr has NEVER had an issue like that. It was 100% bs. AND YEAH, I SAID IT. I MEAN IT ALL.

the wrap up smear is a real thing. They wanted Amari run, and they ran the smear. Textbook .

Stevie is arrogantly pinching pennies. We shall see what happens.

Actually it depends on CD's next 2 seasons. And they do have the 5th year option. But the franchise tag just increased a lot from this year.
More incentive for him to do well with these huge contracts.
I like the fact we have 2 years to really know what we have with CD before committing big dollars to him.

Good deal for the niners considering the market.

Deebo, Kittle, Kupp, OBJ, Chase, Higgins, Tyreek, Kelce were all in the conference championships last season. The Bengals and the Rams OLines were as suspect as they come. Not saying protecting your QB isn’t important anymore but the playoffs clearly showed that the NFL is now battle of the receivers.

LOL........no, not even close on the WR thing.

Rams Oline is also not suspect. Cincy getting there with a poor line was a fluke.

Niners, Rams had two of the best defenses in the NFL. Bengals D played lights out in the playoffs. KC also had a very improved D from the previous year.
