The thing that stands out about that 90’s team more than anything is they were just so much mentally tougher than any other teams to follow them. Parcells tried his best to build the same, but no squad the last 25 years has shown as much heart, fight and toughness as that dynasty team.
Another thing that stands out that I don’t see anymore is that NFC East competition. Our players got better at practice going against so much talent, and they also got better playing in the best division in football. Watching that WFT game and knowing it hasn’t been like that in a long time is sad. It doesn’t even feel the same with the old name that used to make sense go against ‘Cowboys.’ We have years like last season where we knock out all NFC East opponents. That used to mean something.

The problem with this team for the past 27 years is that we are stuck in the 90s. That team was that team. Since then, there have been a number of other teams that have won the Super Bowl. In 1991, it was the Giants. But after that, the Cowboys have always tried to repeat the same parts of that team without ever making it very far.
Their approach is different, but it's the same thing every year, trying to get back to the 90s. The Cowboys should erase that from their memory and just try to win in the here and now. Stop living in the past. You can't win moving forward by living in the past.
