in proper perspective, in the sports scheme of things, are...hey WE COULD BE THE COLTS RIGHT NOW! They just lost their best player, PERMANANTLY THRU RETIREMENT! Look at the Texans. They clearly are in shambles on offense, especially on the oline and NOW losing Lamar Miller...they will be a dumpster fire. Conversely, look at Dallas now. We are 2-3 deep at almost every position with quality. Cooper Rush for Godsakes even looks much better! lol....We may have 3 running backs that can actually start! Our wr's are talented and deep. Our oline is fairly deep, except at tackle. Our defense is 3-4 deep across the board. Life is good in Dallas right now, especially if you are a fan. Wouldn't wish my worst enemy the misfortune the poor Colts have suddenly endured..or the Texans. Brisset wont be the answer. Give me your take on those teams guys...

While it is still preseason with quite a few unknowns left to discover, they didn't look like they were distracted by all of the contract talks and hold out last night. Of course, we have ti take into consideration the opponent and the shape they're in. They might just have a hot seat HC.

When I look at this team and what I feel I know they have, I feel good about this season. I know the OC will hit a few bumps once it gets real but I've felt this was a top 6 NFC team all along and form there, they can strike. I do not have the co #1's LA/NO very far ahead of the Cowboys. And CHI/PHL, a hummingbird's eyelash.

The key is what do people expect in order to call this a good season? Many spend too much time on the last game instead of the turnaround.

If this team can repeat as East champ, something that hasn't been done in 14 years, I will consider that a very successful season, wild card, successful. Playoff wins are gravy, not season defining for ma as that is for others. If I was a all about the playoffs fan and the ring is the thing, the only thing, I would not follow the game any longer. Fans like that, only 1 group is going to be happy and 31 sad sacks.

We still have Garrett......:(:(:(

We still have Garrett......:(:(:(
This team reminds me of a team I had once. Even though I had coached for years this group didn't need much. Just a reminder here and there of clock management. I had had my QB since he was 7, now at 13 He called his own plays. All I really had to do was stand there and clap. This is the perfect situation for Garrett. The thing that scares me is if this thing works he will be around the halls a little longer. o_O:(

We have that often joke about our front office not doing a good putting the team together but clearly they have done a great job. As the OP said even Rush looks capable and no one would have blamed the front office for going out to get a vet QB....heck I was praying for it!

I have a friend that is a Colts fan and the Luck thing is a gut shot especially since he feels they built a team that could contend this season. They have a good back up that could get them by for a few games but just like us if we had to depend on Rush for the entire season we might not even make the playoffs....so are the Colts.

I feel bad for Lamar but that is the nature of the game and of course why Zeke even if not holding out would not have played.

well.. we can't change JG being our HC.. In due time I think Richard will be our HC. I rather have A HC issue than a QB issue. Colts are in HUGE trouble at the position...Luck didn't do the team any favors. Just my opinion. Miller was playing behind a dumpster fire oline against Dallas. They are in big trouble. Not shocked about him being hurt...he took a beating. Luck also played behind a shoddy oline...and I guess it caught up to him. He really should have expressed his desire about retirement predraft...instead of waiting so close to the season starting. If I was Irsay, I would ask for the bonus money back. Colts were duped...not purposely, but the affect was the same.

Nothings permanent , he could take year off get healthy clear his head and come back, See Witten..The colts can win without him, isnt that the Narrairve, I believe Brissett is serviceable, looks a whole lot like our QB, they have stringer Oline+ Better RB then they did two years ago ..theat defense shut us out last year didnt they? Im betting you are counting these teams out and they might keep on trucking..

I see your point but the Texans can grab a RB, I heard on this site they are dime a dozen.. actually one we cut will end up there given they just watched them all up close and personal..other then their Oline dont count them out..

Now back to Us..we do have depth, we need Zeke back to complete this..lets get it on..bring on the Giants..:flagwave:

I think he's truly done for good. Luck looked like he lost his luster last year...the grind and all. Witten missed the grind of it. Luck is completely opposite. He as much as said that in his presser.

I’m thankful real NFL football starts Sept. 8. I despise the fraud commonly known as “preseason football”. You can learn about individual talents but hard to judge a team in a meaningless game where no game plans are made and little of the playbook is revealed.

September 8th can’t get here soon enough.
