Defense after 2 games

They got a decent amount of "pressure" today. The just couldn't seal the deal when they got there.

That's because we built a lead and could pin our ears back.

Yeah, very disappointed with our rush, especially the play from our DTs….way way overpaid for what they are showing thus far. They played better second half, but they got a long way to go. Are we maximizing how we use Q? Dude has potential to be a dominant player who get pressure, he’s better than this.

Remember when with the Jets, he was wrecking havoc all of the place, but hope his partner can get his act together

I’m honestly more concerned about the defense after today’s game than I was last week.

I dogged on the defense last week because they deserved it, but I was hoping they’d show improvement. I just didn’t see it. I saw more intensity from that group, but the actual performance was still really bad.

Gashed in the run game. Zero pressure on the QB. Couldn’t contain the QB whatsoever. Eberflus type soft zones giving up 3rd and longs. I see two horrible defensive performances, one the offense was good enough to bail them out from.

They covered better. Still not great, but better than last week.

You can't sit back in a soft zone, a million yards off the ball, most of the time and expect to have success.

As it is now, we just are not contenders with this defense.

The defense is atrocious. They don't deserve the Hot Boyz nickname so I would ask that everyone stops calling them that.

I’ll have to rewatch the film to fully disagree with this, but my early prediction is that I will be disagreeing. Washington beat themselves more than the Dallas defense stopped them.

A bad pitch that ruined a drive. A bomb from Daniel’s that was just a couple inches too far to Burks. The probably should be TD that got called incomplete.

I’m hoping after my rewatch that I have more positives than I realize but Washington really shot themselves in the foot often.

The spot I may agree with you on is this defense did seem to make Daniel’s hold the ball longer, which is obviously a sign of better coverage. Pass rush just couldn’t get home at all.

It’s a disaster. But I can also see them growing together. Playing against each other all TC doesn’t get you better. Seeing live bullets does. Maybe they should play the 2nd stringers since they actually all played all PS should start out first…..

I’m actually concerned that cowboy fans have been exposed to such bad defense for so long that they actually view this game as a step forward.

The difference was the offense scoring and putting pressure on the opponent to do the same. That made them more one dimensional and easier to defend.
