I really had no problem letting Lawrence go. IT was a reasonable decision.

The defense was lucky today. A few breaks but this is the kind of game we can win now. Dak feasts on the bad teams especially those within the division. He played really well tonight.

The defense was more aggressive in the 2nd half. A less mobile QB would have been in trouble. Maybe they can improve a little each week and eventually be decent. They still were gashed in the running game and there were some wide open receivers again.

I don’t particularly like the defensive scheme. Feels like read and react, bend don’t break type of scheme. I prefer an attacking style where you dictate to the opposing offense.

After the last two years of disaster on defense I refused to allow myself to come into this season with any expectations for the defense. Clearly they have a lot of work to do before they are even middling. Any talk of dominance needs to wait at least another year. Which sucks but cause the way Dak is throwing the ball needs to be capitalized on.. and simply put.. it's not going to be. We're going waste yet another great player's career with crappy defense and poor roster construction. And frankly that is the most disheartening thing I've seen so far this season. I hope Parker can get this thing turned around but until I see it on the field I find it impossible to get emotionally invested in anything this team does.

I will say the way they have been jarring the ball loose from ballcarriers is a good sign. It means they are bringing the wood. That's always a good characteristic for a defense to have. Now if they could just figure out how to tackle a QB or close up the holes in the zone.

Well, you gotta have the right ingredients to cook. We need a major pass rusher and a CB, and we need them in the worst way.

Need ILBs to clean up point of attack problems. Barham might be physical but he’s not finishing many plays and today his conditioning got him.

Need to fill the middle so QB can’t run and stop RBs in the hole.

A major pass rusher would be great that could finish.

This defense is just bad.

The scheme is all about creating confusion in the passing game. But the major problem is still shutting down the run game and scrambling QBs.

That’s going to be a problem all season. There’s obviously different levels of QB runners but it’s really until you get to the Seahawks and Rams in December you face only pocket passers.

Love, Stroud and Baker aren’t Lamar or Daniels but they can run if the holes wide open.

I meant to mention Lawrence in my post. He looks crazy violent and athletic. I think Eze looks much better, too.

I think the pass rush will improve as we go a lot.

I still don't know why Von Miller is here. He's washed.

Oh yeah I said he was cut for sure. Honestly couldn’t remember if we let him walk or cut him. I was ok with it. I think we are just having issues replacing players that we should be able to replace. Replacing Micah would’ve been tough but I atleast thought we had a great guys who could. Eze is the one throwing me for a loop. Not a bad player just not that player I saw. But he flashes still.

Whether edge setting at the first line or gap responsibility at the second level, it's bad.

And those responsible have also been trucked over when they were in fact in position as well.
So there's that too.

The tackling is horrendous. The soft zones that everyone seems to find is embarrassing. The linebackers outside of Barham have been unable to control the run game. The pass rush that is almost nonexistent is really concerning. Didn’t they hire a “renowned” pass rushing coach to help with that?

The defense is atrocious. They don't deserve the Hot Boyz nickname so I would ask that everyone stops calling them that.

I think I’ve seen them called Hot Mess.
