Defense gameplan

Wouldn't be surprised if we only go 3 lineman, I really believe there line may be worse then last year. Flowers is hot garbage. Keeping 6 in coverage may be our safest bet
We will definitely use the 3-2-6, but predominantly in long down and distance situations. For the most part, the Cowboys will be in Nickel. The question is, will they implement more zone looks like their offseason moves suggest they will. The GIants offensive attack begs for zone defense. I mentioned earlier that I'd like to see zone disguised as man, because if they fool Eli, he is more likely to throw an interception given how quickly he has to get the ball out of his hands and will likely do so on slants and drags, if he thinks the cover man is in the trail position. If we are in zone, we can jump alot of those routes with the awaiting coverage.

Yep. Hate the Giants at home for the opener. They will be loose with a nothing to lose mentality.
Actually, I like the idea of the Giants for the opening game. They are a contender for the NFL East and a great rivalry game. I think it will provide a good measure of the Cowboys.

Dallas must get pressure on Eli. Manning will throw ints if you can disrupt him. Also Dallas can't allow NY to establish a running game.
If my stats are correct, the NYG have given up 27, 27, and 21 sacks during the 2014-16 span. Not outrageous given the state of their OL. My only add would be, get pressure on Eli early. It may be my faulty, biased memory, but some of Eli's worst games are when he is pressured early.

That's because of the west coast offense. He dumps it off and Odell does the rest. This system had helped him with the turnovers

Thing is Eli will not take a lot of sacks but he will force passes because of pressure.

Blitz and hit Sheli early and often
Even if there is a penalty, hit him
He gets antsy when hit but we dont do it and play weak (it's almost as if Risen designs our defensive game plan)
Eli gets rid of the ball very quickly.

We all know what will happen if we sit back and only rush 4.

We need to get creative and blitz Eli more times than not. He gets rid of the ball quick anyway, but sending pressure will force him into mistakes and we might actually have some semblence of a threat to sack him too.

Put Jaylon on the field and tell him to get Eli every play. As long as he's running a straight line or bending a corner he's our best pash rusher already.

Hopefully Heath is there for the wing and a prayer bomb that Eli always completes on 3rd and 12 against us!

Put your four best pass rushers (Taco-Collins-Crawford-Lawrence) on the field at the same time and only rotate on occasion or for situational purposes. Dont be afraid to blitz from time to time.

Rush 4-5 and make them beat you with the run. If we can put pressure on their weak online with 4-5 we should have a good night. Could foretell how our season might play out.

Probably playing coverage is the best bet. Even with their crappy OLine, Gints don't give up many sacks due to Eli getting rid of the ball so quickly. They were 3rd best last year at giving up sacks. We can go small on defense since their run game sucks.

Play coverage, limit the big plays and hopefully Eli has one of his "duhhh" moments.
