Looking back, the defense has allowed a total of 3 points in the past two games, 10 in the past three. They have really started playing well. I know that it is not against top offenses, but it is promising.

Here is to hoping they bring something special for Brady and the Pats.

I agree, they are improving, but have to say we did not tackle well last night in the open field. Carp and Akin both wiffed badly on an occasion each and this is just off the top of my head.

D was good but Buffalo has nobody on offense.
Lets see how we do against Moss and Brady.

If you go look at ESPN.com STATS page, they have the interceptions and special team returns listed as Points Per Game (PTS/G) in the Overall Defense column at 19.2 making our defensive PTS/G look worse than it really is.

I do not know if points scored on special teams and from pick 6's go against our defensive points allowed or what but that is where ESPN has put them.

If you add the points our defense allowed in the past 5 games and divide it by 5 it is actually 13.6 PTS/G.

3.1 pts per game in the last three. Pretty good against NFL competition, no matter how the opposing offense is rated.

:hammer:

Especially when the offense is giving it to them every other series. (Only vs. the Bills, I know, but still.)

Anthony Spencer was everywhere last night. Looking at the stats, I am shocked he doesnt have a sack. could have sworn he had one.

He and Ware got Edwards at the same time....maybe they gave it to ware.

he and Ware got there at the same time, but Edwards kinda got away from it.. Ware held on to him though and then Ratliff came over and finished it.. so they split the sack between Ware and Ratliff..

Wrong, the Boys have given up 13 points in the last 3 ball games on defense-- 10 to the Bears, 0 to the Rams, 3 to the Bills... 13 divided by 3 is 4.3 points per game... or just a hair over one point per quarter...

Which is still very, very good, of course...

Here is a question for you. Who played bigger? The Defense or Nick Folk?

That is a tough question. Nick made two huge kicks when it counted. (mean the 47 yard and (well both) of the 53 yard kicks even though only one counted) I still have to give it to the defense. If they allowed Buffalo to score even if it was only FGs, we would have chulked up a loss. They will be tested against a very good offense next week. As long as our offense doesn't hang them out to dry by not being able to move the ball or turning it over all the time, then I think this will be a measuring stick for the defense. I say as long as the offense doesn't hang them out to dry because we cannot allow the Pats to dominate time of possession in the game and expect to win. The defense will tire out and will start to look like first four teams defense in the fourth quarter against our offense.

Yes, the defense has done a stellar job, and I hate to be the negative nellie, but if I asked you to pick 4 offenses in the league that you'd like to see your Defense play against they would be
Chicago
Miami
Rams
Buffalo

Its just a fact. Those teams don't score on anyone. They are still NFL competition, but c'mon, those 4 teams flat out stink offensively.
