Those running lanes were huge for the bucs all day. No telling how big they will be against the giants if we play the same way. The Giants are a much better running team, one of the very best in the league. The d needs to step up big next week for us to win.

And its unbelievable how stacked the giants line is. If we get in 3rd and long situations we will be in serious trouble. Their pass rush on third down is amazing!

not if JG sets up the FJ screen....

Hope to see some of that, especially with the Giants likely looking to over-pursue the pass-rush.

The defense really let me down today. Bucs moved up and down the field on us. I wasn't expecting that.

Offense, special teams and lack of penalties were encouraging though.

No excuses....really.

But, I wonder how much of our defensive problems stemmed from the fact that there was really NOTHING on Tampa's offense.

No tape.....nothing....

That being said, I think it may have hurt Tampa more than us.

Their offense wasn't too bad though. They have a good OL, solid WRs and TEs, and a very good RB corps.

I am a little worried about next week. I've been nervous about our ability to stop the run. It just seems that we're not physical enough.

There is a short clip of the Cowboys lockerroom interview with Keith Brooking. There were guys out of their gaps in the first half.

This was because guys were over-pursuing and being way to aggressive at the POA. Hopefully they learn from it and build on it going to next week's game. Third quarter they were playing like they should have started out - could be attributed to excitedness, first game of season, etc.

I like how KB stepped in and talked his teammates on the side, something we lacked from Zach Thomas last year. He already is putting his foot in the door leadership wise.

I think it was the lack of picking up a true NG. Rat is great on passing downs but truly undersized for the 3-4. Not like this hasn't been brought up before.

I wouldn't be, Giants really haven't changed very much so we should have plenty of film on them. The D needs to practice on run D all next week and hopefully we don't that zone coverage crap against NY.

Yes, the run defense really concerns me.

There were some major holes the Bucs' running backs were able to run through.

Giants offense looked good today as well. Very balanced attack. They didn't come up with a ton of points, but they drove the ball on almost every possession. THey just struggle in the red zone. Hopefully we get the defense fixed before sunday night or it's going to be a long night. I dont really want to see romo dropping back every play with those d-lineman pinning their ears back.

They do. But the running game has never been a problem for this defense, so I don't expect that to be a problem going forward.

Their tackling was pretty sloppy as well and down right pathetic in some cases.

we were VERY fortunate in the passing game defensively today. the dropped pass on 4th down that easily would have been a first. a couple guys were wide open on big third downs that were just overthrown or not seen. even the usually reliable newman had some breakdowns today. we can be happy with the win, but we need to be better. T.B. isn't exactly an offensive juggernaut.
