No there isn’t a pro bowl anymore but voting on those things is decided by flash plays and reputation.

This defense now has:
Quinnen
JPJ
Barham - human wrecking ball
Downs
Bland - if fully healthy

With next tier complements of:
Clark
Thompson

And role players
Durant
Ogbonnia
Winters

And depending on health:
Overshown

Those guys all have skins on the wall in their career. Key right now for Thompson and Overshown is health. But if healthy that’s definitely not the 32nd ranked defense.

I think the problem is more fundamental that the talent on the field. The issue seems to be Christian Parkers defensive scheme and his in-game defensive play calling. What we have now is a collection of talent that isn't playing like they know whats going on. We really need a leader to emerge on the field. Nobody has stepped into Micah or DLAW's shoes in that regard. I think Downs will eventually take that mantle but its a lot to ask of a rookie.

who is JPJ? sorry, I maybe confused.

bland is not playing at probowl level. he is couple of years past his year when he had record Int for TDs. he has been average to below average since.

Barham is got a little ways to go. so far so good.
downs is impressive.

Quenin...hmmm, not sure if he is producing at probowl level. talent is there. not sure if we are using him right.
clark, thompson are not probowl material.

ogbo is doing his piece in run defense. the other two...meh
overshown is not good any longer...he spends more time recovering from injury, than actual playing time.

As much as we love to slam the front office, you can't deny they've tried to inject some talent into the defensive side of the ball. It's up to CP now. Does he have what it takes? I suppose time will tell.

Sure I can, because they didn't need to trade Micah to really do any of this.

This is why we haven’t won in 30 years. We are always looking at our best players instead of who our worst players are.

Defense takes 11 guys. NFL offenses will exploit any weak links. The Cowboys have several. Winters is one of them. But the Edge players have been awful too.

they get healthy and figure out the pass rush then watch out....we just have to weather the next 3 games and find a way to get to 4-2 and then its on like donkey kong....no reason they cant do that.

Overshown is trash though

we have had defense before with multiple Pro Bowlers and they did squat

The talent on the roster on that side of the ball is not nearly as bad at the 32nd ranked defense in the league.

Not to mention Gary too. He's been a good player throughout his career and has looked terrible.

The sum of the parts is equal to far less than it should be at this point.

Yeah, I'm at QW for his last game only, his performance finally matched his paycheck. Barham is the quick ascender and although I'm hesitant to get ahead of myself basing his production on potential, his film clearly shows an ascending talent in real time. Still, inexperienced and raw but I think he's a good one.

Downs is upholding his lofty draft status pedigree.

Ogbonnio showed up in the first level this last game.
All the rest are meh or below if ya ask me.
