Defense performance

I know we let the skins score 27 points on us, but i'm really not really worried about our defense in the playoffs.

in this game, with our starters in (excluding one of the best CBs in the league and our best D-linemen) we held them to 13 points in the first half and that is with them just abusing Reeves. i don't think thats too bad and i think that come playoff time our defense is going to help us more then hurt us.

If we are going to get to the superbowl, our front 7 is going to have to play their tails off.

i think They are going to show up big time in two weeks, personally. Thats just me though.

agreed. hopefully, both O and D show up together. and maybe ST could get a TD return or limit the other team to bad field position instead of giving up 15+ yards all the time. and maybe crayton can actually get some yards during punt returns.

yeah, Ware had a monster game and James showed why he's the leader on def. not to mention spears didn't have that awful a game, he actually got some pressuse on the QB. a novelty for him.

The D is what worries me. Our offense will be fine. Newman out today killed us, but our scheme worries me the most. I would like to see Newman and Henry play straight up man to man and blitz more often. Then play this soft zone and pass the reciever off.

yeah, i agree and i think part of that has to do with us playing vanilla. we haven't been mixing up the blitz packages the past few weeks like we normally do and i think we are saving that stuff for the playoffs.

a great example would be our "cowboy" package which is a 3-3-5 with spencer, ware, and ellis all on the field. we haven't seen that much lately but when we have played it, it's been very effective.
