Defense played GREAT on third down

I think they only allowed the saints to convert one by my count(not including that fourth down conversion late)

That is HUGE for these guys. Ive always thought that what this defense was missing was executing on third down. Last night showed what can happen if they do execute.

Yup you're right, the whole team played great!

They couldnt have picked a better team to do it against. I hate the saints and always have

I was pretty confident that we would win going into the game and once we were up 24-3 I knew it was a done deal! Then we ran it on 3rd & 7 and played for the FG :bang2: which of course Folk missed and I wasn't so confident anymore.

Ware came up big when we needed him last night as did most of the others on defense. Spencer had a very good game and even Carpenter had some good plays along with his lame ones.

I was pissed at Jenkins when he dropped that easy INT but he made up for it later on that same drive by picking one off near our own goalline.

The Saints weren't resting anyone (although Bush went out early with a hammy) and we still shut them down for most of the game. Stopping them on 3rd downs was key to this win along with Tony Romo of course!

We got some young guys really starting to step it up - Jenkins, Austin etc. It's fun to watch. It was a game none of us will ever forget!

Hopefully we can look back on it as a stepping stone to something really good as opposed to a blip on the radar screen.
