Defense played their worst game

Worst game our defense played this year. Any keyboard experts got any insight to share on the defense's under performance today?

The defense gave up some points vs the Eagles, but I wasn't harsh on them, because I thought it was Rush's 3 INTs gave the ball up in the redzone - but then this game happened. What was the issue today??

They are awful at containing running QB’s. The DE’s aren’t containing the edge. The LB’s are too slow to run sideline to sideline to stop it.


They need to be better at that. To get past teams like
The eagles for example.

We had a few calls go against it (turnovers), a lot of missed holding calls. We struggle with running QB's and RPO. This made the running game weaker because of how fast Fields is. We are also hurt

I think part of it was because our O was scoring so quickly and using the no-huddle. They were probably gassed. Injuries didn’t help either. But yes, it needs to be fixed.

We have trouble against the run. Chicago basically ran a high school offense. The Cowboys are best against non mobile QBs.

What happened to the defense today is why I continue to be skeptical about this team. Our inability to stop the run is bound to rear its ugly head come December/January. Our defense is starting to look pretty beat up. Parsons was having to be taken out a lot and appears to be dealing with a number of ailments.

DLinemen are always attacking up field. So option plays and some misdirection plays are always going to give them trouble. Draws too.

The Bears have the #1 rushing offense in the league, fell behind, and completely abandoned the pass for some reason. I think we were willing to continue to let them run while down 20.

I’m not too worried. Scrambling QBs give them fits because the Dline is so focused on getting in the backfield and doesn’t play with spectacular lane discipline.

Hopefully this just gives them an opportunity to see some more film on how they can play the QB run better.

Outside of that, I wouldn’t look too much into this. They still made plenty of plays and Chicago got spotted a TD because of that horrible roughing the passer call. Not going to hold every team under 20 every week.

I think a very good running team was across the field. They used misdirection plays and other little gadget type plays against our defense as well as a shifty fast running qb. Defense played a heck of a game against a worthy opponent. Gave up plays but didn't breakdown completely. We won so enjoy it. Yes, Quinn has some things that needs fixed on the bye week.

It's a simple fix. Out-score them. The same way Dallas beat Philly twice in 2021. Days like today are why you need to be able to put up the points.
