Not really.
It's more like our fans aren't willing to give Chicago's offense credit for their performance today.
They ran in situations where they should have passed, and that's a big reason why they were having "success."
Really, though, it's all situational, as far as the schemes they were running..
That, and without Zeke's steady runs, the defense didn't have as much time to rest, because we'd score and then they were right back out there again.
Obviously, some have never played a full 4 quarters to know what that's like.
Defenses will get beat. That's why you have an offense.
And our offense is trending up. Just now starting to gel.
Gallup really wasn't supposed to be back until this game anyway.. or maybe even after the bye. But he's starting to come into his own, now that he's had sufficient time to recover.
The Bears have the #1 rushing offense in the league, fell behind, and completely abandoned the pass for some reason. I think we were willing to continue to let them run while down 20.
I’m not too worried. Scrambling QBs give them fits because the Dline is so focused on getting in the backfield and doesn’t play with spectacular lane discipline.
Hopefully this just gives them an opportunity to see some more film on how they can play the QB run better.
Outside of that, I wouldn’t look too much into this. They still made plenty of plays and Chicago got spotted a TD because of that horrible roughing the passer call. Not going to hold every team under 20 every week.
Thank You. It's nice to read an informed post.
