First and foremost I thought that Dallas made significant improvements on the defense. It was gutsy to let Mo, Carr, Church and Wilcox walk. That is as drastic as change can be. It worked out for Dallas as I think that went from around 17th ranked to 8th this past season. A+ to the FO staff.

The biggest order for biggest is the team signing Hitchens and D-Law. Decide what to do with Gregory and Tapper as well. Release or keep? Will Taco be a force?

I like where the defense ended up at but Dallas can’t rest on their laurels. They have to be active with Free Agent signings (not bust the cap), the draft, and accessing where they truly are with the Roster.

Dallas has to build for the nickel. The team stays in the nickel for the majority of the game. I think it is around 65-75% of the time. The adage defense wins championships still holds true. I think if the Boys secure Lawrence and Hitchens They need another “War Daddy” on the opposite side of the line. Is that Taco, Tapper or Gregory? They also need to address the DT spot. Dallas uses a D-line rotation and they can not have a drop-off.Although I like Heath, I don’t think he was an improvement over Church and the team has to draft a SS with a high pick that can start day one. I think Heath fills a great role in the nickel, safety back-up and special teamer. Dallas also has to spend on the DT spot. Within the first 3 rounds I want the team to draft a SS, DE and DT. (Maybe even OT) How can the team keep Lee on the field more?

The defense has to be solid in the middle on each level. DT, Mike and safety.

In the later rounds and un-drafted they have to find a few DBs and LBs. The team has to assemble an elite, young and fast defense. Go Dallas!!!

I think they need another LB in addition to keeping Hitch. I think they need to keep Irvin and Law and if a passrusher than can moved around is available they need to jump. Love to get someone like Landry that could rush from a few spots. Of course having an imaginative D coordinator is a requirement too and we don't have that. I expect Taco to be much better and possibly even a force next year. Be nice to plug in a stud next to Collins. But I think the most glaring need on the D, besides a new coordinator, is FS.

I truly believe this defense could become top 5 with the addition of Earl Thomas because of his abilty at the back end he is imo the most important part of running Seattles scheme which is very similar to ours. He was out in 16’ & the defense went to crap. This year they lose Avril, Chancellor & Sherman & with the exception of the couple games where Wagner was also injured they held up pretty damn well. Also I just finished my 4rnd mock so I suppose I’ll post it as well as I believe it highlights covering our needs with perspective to the prospects who should be available at each selection.

1st) Tremaine Edwards - LB Virginia Tech
2nd) Derrick Nnadi - NT Florida St.
3rd) Anthony Miller - WR Memphis
4th) Terrell Edmunds - S Virginia Tech
4th) KJ Malone - OT/G LSU (or Jamarco Jones, but i think his stock is rising considerably)
4th) Akrum Wadley - RB Iowa

I like where your going here...

i think you need a Legit FS and move Professor X to SS let heath still come in as backup and rotational FS / SS along with Kevon, Jones is a LCB IMO... In the front 7 we need to resign Hitch and I'd tender DLaw with a 1st and 3rd If he takes out asking price good, if someone else offers the moon and gives up a 1/3rd we get extra amo... this years DL crop is really good... On DT we need to get a 1tech to either rotate with Collins or replace him and move him to 3tech. I think we have 1 more year on Gregory and Tapper lets see what they can do we dont have to cut bait yet.

I don't care much for the scheme, which is zone heavy generally. The LBs and Safeties really aren't good zone cover types with the exception of Lee.

For personal, I'd add a pair of Lbers and a pair of safeties. Heath needs to not start, that was a poor idea.

We definitely need to establish a stud RDE. There is a need for a space eater next to David Irving. Definitely need quality LBers added another safety. A corner wouldn't hurt either.

Rumors are Anthony Miller will be the first receiver taken in the draft. No way he is there in the 3rd unless he fails a drug test or two

I havent heard that. I’ve heard alot of him in the 2nd but there is a plethora of WR’s in he 2nd so one is more than likely going to drop to the 3rd & with Miller already being 24 he may get pushed down a bit

Here is my top 9

Ridley
Kirk
Moore
Cain
Miller
Sutton
Washington
Gallop
St Brown

One of them will be there in the 3rd, i’ll take whichever one is there.

IMO, I would LOVE to see more 3-4 sets, but we would need some more LB's

and certainly a creative DC

Keep staying up to date. You will see as draft gets closer. I agree with you that players will fall from 2nd to 3rd or maybe lower but it won't be Miller unless some character issue comes up.

i wont be surprised at all if he shoots up idk about first round but early 2nd i could absolutely see, I’m just going off of current projections on a couple of draft boards & picked the guy I would prefer. Like I said, one of those 9 will be there, i just want one of them with our 3rd pick
