Defense wins championships

I agree with everyone here:

1. Dak is off
2. The Offense is anemic at times
3. The running game is suspect
4. The play calling has been horrid

Having said all of that, this defense is coming into it's own and finding it's stride at the PERFECT time. Look at the past super bowl champions (LINK) all of the past seven champs have a top 10 scoring defense. According to PFF we have the 6th ranked defense but we have the 12th ranked scoring defense. I think a lot of that is due to recent games where the offense has been stagnant and turning the ball over.

My point is if the defense can stay healthy, and the Offense simply doesn't turn the ball over or go 3 and out a lot, we will go far. Stay positive people

You're right, but we don't need MVP Dak right now with the way this defense is playing. We just need 30 attempt, control the game Dak who doesn't turn the ball over, and can make 1-2 chunk plays downfield. What we really need is for Zeke & Pollard to get healthy and KM to stay committed to the run. Do that and I have 100% faith that Dak can get back on track enough to win in the playoffs.

Zeke looks done.

He just had 10 days off and looked just as horrible. He has no big play ability.

Pollard is the only one who can save this backfield.

I don't disagree with that for the most part, I will say defense plays a big part. TB defense played a big part in them making it to the SB and winning it. Several teams over the last few years saw defense playing great ball creating problems even vs top QB.

I never would have thought it possible at the start of the season but I enjoy watching the defense play more than the offense at the moment. Parsons is straight up amazing. We are light years ahead of where we were at the start of the season with that bozo Jaylon as a starter.

Totally agree about the QB stepping up, but the defense can't revert to giving up 500 yards and 36 points against a QB with a pulse.

Tampa's defense didn't allow more than 26 points in any playoff game last season and destroyed the Chiefs in the SB. They didn't just tell Brady to go put up 40.

It's been forgotten I guess that Derek Carr and the Raiders dropped 36 on us 3 games ago.

Add Special Teams stellar play and we have a clear advantage... defense and field position... takes the pressure off Dak and Zek!

It's true. Yes, our D has played much much better. However, our D simply cannot be completely judged when playing the Heinecke's and Hill's of the league. And that's not even taking into consideration that Hill was walking all over the field on us until he broke his finger.

Watching you guys switch from "Dak is elite" to "hopefully the defense carries him" is truly a sight to see.

Ya'll were dead wrong. The only thing you've "killed" is your creditability when it comes to judging QBs.

There isn’t a defense in this league that isn’t in trouble in that position.

It's true. Yes, our D has played much much better. However, our D simply cannot be completely judged when playing the Heinecke's and Hill's of the league. And that's not even taking into consideration that Hill was walking all over the field on us until he broke his finger.

I would never completely judge any defense or offense as far as that goes based on 1 game. Yesterday Dallas went into their stadium and this defense for the most part shut Washington down. Once we took away their run game, Dallas put them in situations that Washington is not good at. Washington RB Gibson was a none factor in this game with 10 carries 36 yards, yet in the 4 game prior to Dallas Gibson accounted for 88 vs Raiders, 111 vs Seahawks 95 vs Carolina and 64 vs Tampa. When offense and Dak gave up the late TD for narrow the game to 7 points, Cowboys defense stepped up and finished it off with yet another take away. Again I would never judge them by 1 game because what makes any team defense great in consistently going out and stopping opposing teams. Having Key players back in the lineup playing together is a reason to get excited and take notice of this unit.

The offense will have to contribute significantly.
