Defense wins in the playoffs

I want to win like the Rams did and it seems we might have to.

We may very well have to score lots of points to win this year. I'm still hopeful that with some changes to scheme, the defense can perform much better. I guess we'll have to see what adjustments are made.

Those are paper numbers. Anyone who saw those teams play knew the defense was not great, but just good. This is much like the 2003 Cowboys under Parcells - a #1 defense, but not really that good.

On the other hand, the offenses on those teams were great - points on the board, win the TOP, few turnovers.

Looked at another way, how many players on those D's are going to end up in HOF? Why were those teams always identified by the triplets?

Those teams didn't have bad defenses, but the defense wasn't the main reason those teams won the championship.

Are you high? Did you not watch any of that season? Did you not watch Super Bowl XXVII and the NINE (9) turnovers they caused?

No it wasn't. It was good but not great. It could get worn down by teams with a physical running game. It depended on the offense to get leads and control TOP to be effective.
