If dallas signs Melton would this change the outcome of the draft? Considering Crawford may play DT. If so what position or player does Dallas go after? DE would be obvious to me but I don't know if there is a player at that position that would be worth that #16 pick.

If Dallas doesn't take a DT, trade down, like you say there's no DE worth of that pick, there's more value in later rounds. If they stay put at 16th, take C.J. Mosley, one of the top Safeties or even some OL.

Signing him will give you a bit more flexability in the Draft.
But if signed to too much CAP $'s then you lose the flexability for FA's in the future.
Back to contract re-structure mode.

It could but I hope it doesn't. I hope Dallas is going after the best defensive player on the board and if that is DT then take it

Regardless of who they sign in free agency, they need to take the best DL, OL or safety available in the first round... Or trade down.

If they sign Melton and can not trade down at all and have to take a player at #16, I'm thinking Zack Martin from Notre Dame.

I'd say you are half right. Just take BPA regardless of position. Even if we trade down, just stick to BPA. We are not in a position where we are one or two players away from anything. One DL os safety or LB is not going to make a huge stride in the defense. If you are relying on some unknown rookie defensive player to save the day, then you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

Try to fill your immediate needs with FAs the best you can. Then, stick to BPA in the draft.

I dont think the signing of anyone should effect this draft... there is just flat out 0 talent on this DEFENSE... but they shouldnt reach for any one position BPA on DEFENSE...

We should definitely go after Calvin Pryor in the first round if we sign Melton and/or Allen. Anyone who isn't familiar with this guy, just type his name in on YouTube and watch his highlights. He could be the next Ed Reed. He hits hard, has solid coverage skills, great athleticism, and amazing ball skills for intercepting passes. D-line is our number one priority right now, but if Donald isn't on the board at #16, we gotta take this kid. Our secondary was awful last year and we need to address it. Yes, we should take him over Jernigan, who in my opinion would be a bit of a reach if we take him at 16. There will still be solid pass rushers on the board in round 2, so it's not the end of the world if we don't go d-line in the first round.

Yeah he hits hard I saw his highlights last time, he will meet the runner in the hole and put a good lick, receivers running down field even after gains have too watch out for this guy he will make them pay
