I do not care with we have Montana, Brady or Mahomes at QB, this team isn't winning anything with a defense that cannot stop anyone. Heard a stat last night, that the Cowboys D gives up a TD in the red zone at a 70% rate, that is god awful.

Been paying to attention to former players that I respect, last night we heard Spears/Kelce say they have no beef inside and have zero chance for success. Brady over the weekend stated a good run defense is all about having big personnel and scheme. Many will agree that the Cowboys were built to stop the pass, but the league has returned to running the football and winning the line of scrimmage.

No more 280 lb DT's. Weakside Linebackers playing the MIKE, undersized DE's who cannot set the edge. BIG personnel!!

Id be fine if we just mostly focus on the defense in the draft and in FA. We won’t be able to fix it all in one off season but if we can set the foundation for a great defense it’ll help Dak and the next young QB.

Let’s go nuts on the DL.

Personal wise we could be solid at DE and CB ( Emphasis COULD at DE). Thats puts you in a place where you can get key stops. Its not enough but its a start. Think back to 2012, where those were two strengths. Still an 8-8 team.

Im of the mind where we need to aim for Graham or Walker in the first. I think landing one of those two would be huge. I think that will help Smith alot too, who has been gradually improving and may be league average by next year.

MLB we may have to go the vet route. Like the Kendricks signing, we probably have to look for someone connected to whoevers running our D next year

kC has the best QB on the planet, and they win with no skill position players. Why? Because they have a defense

I am a strong advocate of building the defense and committing to running the football on offense. I want a dominating front 7. It will take a few years but this is the way to go.

You hit the nail on the head about setting the edge. We are so back at leaving the outside cut lanes open for quick RB like Joe Mixon. It is infuriating to see them clog the middle only to see the RB cut outside where not one is there to run the play back into the pile.

Our returning DEs next year are Parsons, Kneeland and Williams. Kneeland is a run defender and Williams has proven he can’t be counted on. DE is a need.

We’re somewhat covered at CB but JLew is a FA and Bland is about to be a FA and we won’t pay 2 CBs buku money. If CB is clear cut BPA zero issues taking one early.

Targeting one position in the top 10 is what gets you in trouble and is the definition of reaching. If Graham is BPA love it…great prospect: Walker would be a massive reach in the top 10 and probably 1st as a whole.

They also have Hollywood Brown a former 1st rd pick. They are loaded with talent at receiver.

Bigger personnel is what is needed:

-Replace Osa with a 320 LB Graham or Harmon
-Sign a veteran NT Starter, draft a developmental one
-Draft a big Mike Linebacker, perhaps sign a veteran, bridge type starter
-Move Parsons off the ball, he is too undersized to play 4-3 DE, really would consider a 3-4 Front, where he is an ideal fit.

Skilled players can always be found, they have to fix this run defense before anything else or it won't matter!

My dream is they can turn the 1st pick (Hoping top 2) into 3 starters. How? Pull off a Chicago type trade for a QB needy team. How? Move 2 to 10/low teens for a stud player and a 1st + 2nd pick. Bears received 2 first 2 2nds and DJ Moore.

Completely destroys the narrative that franchise QBs have to drag mediocre talent to wins because of their high contracts.

Mahomes is the best QB on the planet…and he’s got high end weapons everywhere.

That team is loaded throughout the roster, yes they have the best QB, but also the best team. When you look at all the contenders, our talent level is no where close and coaching is about the same.

That is the ideal scenario, but very difficult to land that high of a pick. Not only the bad teams in front of us but our strong strength of schedule which is the tie-breaker for picks.

Bellicheck/Saban or a modern oc with Saleh
You know how I feel about BB…but if you tell me we can package him with a modern OC that’ll help scheme guys open for the first time in over a decade count me in.
