You know how I feel about BB…but if you tell me we can package him with a modern OC that’ll help scheme guys open for the first time in over a decade count me in.
That is the key with hiring BB. Think Dabol could be in the mix as he is expected to be fired by the Giants. He has worked with Bill in the past, also was Saban's OC at Alabama. Has had good results outside of the Giants, might be a better OC then a HC.

Before it’s all said and done I bet you could talk me into it lol…

I just rewatched Michigan vs Indiana. Let’s just say Mason Graham is what our front 4 needs.

I do not care with we have Montana, Brady or Mahomes at QB, this team isn't winning anything with a defense that cannot stop anyone. Heard a stat last night, that the Cowboys D gives up a TD in the red zone at a 70% rate, that is god awful.

Been paying to attention to former players that I respect, last night we heard Spears/Kelce say they have no beef inside and have zero chance for success. Brady over the weekend stated a good run defense is all about having big personnel and scheme. Many will agree that the Cowboys were built to stop the pass, but the league has returned to running the football and winning the line of scrimmage.

No more 280 lb DT's. Weakside Linebackers playing the MIKE, undersized DE's who cannot set the edge. BIG personnel!!
This defense is awful and I really I feel like I have to blame Zim for the total collapse. They were pretty good the past few years under DQ. (although even them we could see the poor commitment to run defense) Losing all those FA's and not replacing them didn't help so the FO has a big part in that too. All those injuries didn't help any.

I personally think a strong defense has to be a mix. A team has to be able to both stop the run and the pass at various times in a game. They simply cannot. They focused too much on pass defense as the league went pass happy. But now as common sense is returning to football and everyone is re-realizing that a strong run game can win games just as well as a passing attack can, a strong defensive front is a must.

You need to have at least 1 but preferably 2-3 guys who can get to the QB when needed and at least 2 good coverage guys; then rest of the defense needs to be more in line with a run stopping scheme. Big powerful DE's and DT's, with strong hard hitting LB's and S's who can read and run.

Guys this class is very deep at defensive tackle. Take a look at Ohio State and Oregon during the college football playoffs. Our second and third round picks will be valuable with the defensive tackle talent in this draft. Michigan has two strong tackle candidates that I would use my first and second pick on if we finish in the top 5 draft in the draft order.

Defense has some pieces, but really have to rebuild their front 7, especially the DT positional group. Good news, deep draft at the position this year.

Many of these DT's are going to fly off the board, Cowboys have to pull the trigger early if they want in on the action.

The Cowboys have to get in the top 5 of the draft order. Running back is also deep and talented. I seriously think this might be the deepest running back class I have ever seen. I am hearing from the YouTube draft guys that this draft is weak overall but two positions the Cowboys should double dip on the class is deep with talent

That what I said, double dip at DT and RB and take advantage of the depth at those positional groups.

If our first three picks were DT and then RB I would not complain; as long as they did not stupidly reach

It's all about fixing our run game and run defense, then figuring out our skilled positional needs.

It’s all about who they hire as the head coach. If it’s a Belicheck type, I think they attack the trenches but if it is a coach that Jerry can control we will get flash and dash.

I agree, we need the HC who prioritizes win inside the trenches. Fix both sides of the ball there and it is easy to find skilled, positional players.

We have enough skill players if we use them properly on the offense and defense in my opinion. If you cannot protect the quarterback or open holes for the backs you have no chance offensively. For the defense you have to stop the run and break up the quarterbacks timing. Parsons, Bland, Diggs, Overshown, Turpin, and CeeDee are some of the best playmakers in the NFL. They all need help in the trenches to show their ability.

Couldn't agree more. Although, I think we have to upgrade the talent at the RB position.

Yeah. That is my fear. Jeanty will be sitting there at 8. I can’t see Jerry not taking him. Hopefully Jerry sees the other 15 backs that should be top 4 round picks.

I agree, it is going to be like that Johnny Football pass to Zach Martin.

Jeanty is a great player and honestly if Graham started out slow, which most defensive tackles do, the Cowboys would get lots of push back from the national media. Jerry really has to let his football guys handle the coaching decisions.
