Defenses The Cowboys Have Faced vs Those Remaining

There's a pretty big difference in the types of defenses we have mostly faced so far vs what we will face the rest of the year.

With all of our weapons, we will continue to throw it, but don't be surprised if we throw FAR less on average the rest of the way..

Here is our schedule and where each defense currently ranks vs the PASS and RUN

Bottom line; unless we keep falling way behind in games, expect us to have a more balanced attack going forward...on average.
We've already faced 3 of the 4 worst pass defenses we'll face all year but, other than the Vikings, will face pretty solid or even great pass defenses the rest of the way.

Hopefully, the oline can help Zeke and Pollard

If this Defense could actually be respectable and only give up 20 points a game we could win most of these games

and I dont know how the football team is ranked as high as they are......their defense isnt that much better than ours....i mean its better of course but not by much

• 27th Overall
• 20th in Pass Defense
• 27th in Run Defense

Currently last in Scoring Defense, but again, maybe it should be about 27, as our offense is close to leading the league in turnovers.

Turnovers and coaching decisions. They matter. Especially when you also can’t defend the run or the pass.

Technically, one could make the argument that the defense only gave up 20 points to the Giants. 7 points on a pick six and 7 points on a fumble at their own 17 yard line are not the fault of the defense.

They only gave up 20 to the Rams. I think they only gave up around 22 to the falcons if you negate the points from offensive turnovers.

Probably more than 5 since we’ve faced some good offenses and some teams haven’t
But this early in the year rankings mean little since one game can really change your rankings

It's just raw stats after only 5 games
Certainly not my ranking.
Defense, in general, is way down this year....probably in part due to Covid and limited preseason. Same in college as well.

Note that stats do depend on who you've played so far as well.
