Defensive Cohesion - Camp Tackling question

I know it's only week 2 of the preseason, but once again this defense will barely resemble the defense that will take the field in week 1. It feels close to impossible to get any type of gauge on how the d will perform and I can't imagine that not playing together for any length of time in full contact/live situations is going to help this defense be ready. It would be one thing if it was one or two people, but we are basically missing or unsure of half of the defensive starters. We don't even know where the LB's are going to play and they are healthy, other than Lee of course. With so many new faces, there are a lot of moving parts that are going to take some time to come together. I have a very hard time believing that that is going to happen very quickly without playing together.

On a side note, I have a question about tackling at camp - watching the small amount they show on hard knocks from the bucs camp, it appears they are doing a lot more live tackling compared to basically zero that I have seen in the Dallas camp. Is that a team choice? They show the Bucs doing live drills and taking players to the ground. I understand it's not safe, but I thought it was actually not allowed by the new CBA. If it is allowed, are Dallas in the minority or the majority? It looks like we are playing 2 hand touch out there in practice, which even Garrett sounded like he wanted a little more physicality to be used. I guess a tackling dummies and yellow balls is supposed to replace the live tackling, but I can't imagine that a dead object is anything like a real person with force.

The media as well as fans, we can say all we want, as we have no idea how they will line up, who are the starters and at what positions. They try many things in the 1st few weeks of TC's.

But don't sit here and think that the coaches don't know either. They know exactly who will play where and how they will be used. There may be a few players get moved around yet. But the coaches know.
When they get back to Valley Ranch and the Death Star to continue practices, and when some of those are closed to the media and the public. that's where they will have them in their positions working on the real stuff we will see week 1.
