Do we get a defensive coordinator at the end of the year, or does wade keep doing those duties?

As great as our defense has been, I'm not sure I like the head coach so distracted. I think it affects our team.

are u insane?...........only way our DC gets replaced is if Wade gets fired from his HC duties

Was Tom Landry "distracted" when he was the offensive and defensive (don't give me any crap about Stautner) coordinator of the Cowboys?

its great when its working, but when you lose games because there isn't enough oversight of the offense... its not pleasing...

I do think we would be better off with Wade as the DC and someone with great fire and leadership abilities to act as HC but that isn't possible right now. At this point, let the season play itself out and then decide if any changes need to be made. Right now the team is gelling and I wouldn't be inclined to change anything - maybe Wade's way is working. The next 5 games and hopefully the playoffs will be the ultimate test of his HC abilities.

Then what you really want is Garrett fired and Dan Reeves hired.

Wade isn't going to run an offense. Most defensive minded coaches wouldn't be.

If Wade comes back he is useless unless he keeps this defense firing. For the good and bad of Wade the good side is his composure and his defensive ability.

Some coaches like Bill Parcells take far more credit for the offense than they deserve but generally coordinators who aren't working for offensive coaches run the show on the offense except in small windows where coaches call for a run or a pass.

Jimmy Johnson was completely hands off on offense. That's why Norv was so good here.

We'll likely be getting a new DC at the end of the year because we'll be, most likely (Again unless we make at least the NFC Championship game and I still believe it will take a Superbowl win to save his job), be replacing our HC.

i'd absolutely LOVE to keep Wade as DC and hire a new HC.. unfortunately that would never happen

why is it people think its a big deal that Wade serves as his own DC and calls plays, yet when head coaches serve as their own offensive coordinator and call plays, its not a concern?

Can we just replace Garrett??

Why?

Lets say we do replace him, the odds that a new guy dramatically improves our overall numbers are very slim. We already rank at or near the top of the league in most offensive statistics.

If Garrett is doing as horrible a job as some of you believe, whats that say for the offensive coordinators of the other 25-28 teams or so that rank below us?

Don't you know that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

If i had to select an offensive coordinator to move my team from the 20 to the 20, Garrett would be my guy.

Otherwise...

every think maybe its the players... its not like he is going to go to detroit and have the same success on offense...

the things we struggle in, i think are coachable and scheme. 3rd down conversions, redzone, offensive line, and penalties...

There are several coaches who call the offense, Wade calls defense it is no more of a distraction for him as it would be for anyone.

When it comes to the topic of Jason Garrett, it serves you no purpose at all to even make an effort to make sense.

You did, but it will not make one iota of difference. The experts know better.

I get that defense of Garrett, and to be honest I'm not nearly as high on getting rid of him as I was before the year started, but if you're going to take that stance of what does it say about all these people below what he's doing then are you going to say the same thing for Wade Phillips?

So why should we get rid of Wade Phillips when he's been better as an HC than more than half the coaches in the league?

I don't see a lot of people making that claim for him so why would that hold water for Garrett?

I'm to the point where I really don't care, either way, if we keep Garrett or not. If we do that won't bug me at all and if we don't that won't bug me either.

So those that believe he is a great coordinator are experts because of their opinion?

All it takes is a marginal record in December, and 1 playoff victory, and you can bet that Wade Phillips will have a new contract as head coach.

It makes no ****ing sense to blow up a winning team. A new head coach, even Garrett, sets this team back 2 years.
