defensive coordinator

Finding myself being swayed by the Dennis Thurman crowd. Is he really an option, or is this just wishing pon a star?

I think he's an option, and by option I mean that any defensive coach is an option. I don't think it will happen, but if it does I will do backflips.

Truthfully, no matter who is the coach less than 5% chance. It is just what I hope for.

I hear that Capers is signed through 2011. No idea if this is true or not. I sort of expect the DC to either be Pasqualoni or Al Groh.
Thanks for ruining Christmas

Mike Nolan might be available if Miami cleans house, which rumor has it, they will do after the season is over.

In Miami, his defense is 4th in Yds/G, 7th in PPG, Only 4 teams commit fewer penalties, and 8th in 3rd down %. All things considered, not too shabby, especially considering how bad their offense is.

Another blast from the past would be Todd Bowles, who is also in Miami right now.

How ironic would that be, if Miami did clean house, to see Nolan come as DC, then Bowles come back as DB coach (replacing Campo), and Sparano as OC/OL coach (replacing Houck)?

If Garrett is the HC, I have a hard time seeing Pasqualoni come back. Jerry said earlier this week, that if Washington had won that game, it would have given him pause as to the idea of giving Garrett the HC job. If true, then if I were Garrett, and I feel like my defense is failing me, I'm gonna make changes, startin with the DC.

Several factors actually. First, much like Jason Garrett, I have always wanted him to come here and coach once he got into coaching. Second, everywhere he goes the DBs create turnovers. Did you know Ronnie Lott credited him with teaching him how to be a better player while they were at USC together? It's true, look up Lott's HOF induction speech and you will see it. From the time he was in college he understood how to get better. Third, he's got the Cowboys pedigree I crave. I believe there is a pride in being a Cowboy that cannot be overlooked and if we get enough guys who are, they will give their best. That includes coaches. Lastly, he has been in some of the most aggressive Defensive schemes in the NFL with the Ravens and with the Jets and I would like to steal some of that aggression. I think he is smart, motivated, and capable of being a Dick Labeau quality DC.

I Would love DT coming back to Dallas.

I could live with that. Garrett and Sparano played well together in running the offense (and Sparano seemed to do better with these linemen than Houck has). And Nolan is a great coordinator.

If Nolan becomes available, I'd pounce on that.

I'm having a hard time staying optimistic about the prospect of getting new defensive coaches in here. I will strive to be better tomorrow.
