This list was as of Aug. 7, so I'm sure some have changed. I've taken out some that were already signed that I knew of. Just seeing if anyone see's anything that could help.

Now, IMO I believe once Newman and Ellis get back, the defense will be fine...plus more experience in the new scheme, but the Fergy injury really does worry me.

It is a great list I just thought I'd point it out before we get a bunch of sign him posts. :D

Right now, I'd say Sullivan or Payne would be the best of a bad lot. I guess we'll see.

What about Joe S. from the Skins? Did anyone pick him up?

He may not be great and he may be at the age where he's getting some injuries, but I think he might be a pretty good part-time anchor-type run stuffer. I hate to wear Ratliff out at nose, especially when teams start trying to run right up the gut at us. Rat is a good nickel rusher and I wish he could be fresh for those downs.

Junior Siavii....anyone know anything about his injury status? I know he was a NT back in college (6'5 330 - Oregon), and suffered a knee injury early on in his career....but thats about it. He was drafted by KC late in the 2nd round of the 2004 draft.

Maybe it's just me, but I think we can get along with Ratliff and Bowen at NT this season. They've both played pretty well.

If Seth payne is healthy he be a solid pickup for the 3-4 he played it for the Texans and he was solid for them on that defense before injury set in

Defensive End

Grant Wistrom/UFA

He is available right now? really?

Wistrom to coach at southwest Missouri high school

Updated: April 17, 2007, 8:53 AM ET
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Grant Wistrom has done it all in his college and NFL careers, winning three national championships at Nebraska and a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams. Now he's looking to add the title of "coach" to his football résumé, and he's willing to start small.

Wistrom Released last month from the Seattle Seahawks, the 30-year-old defensive end plans to move home to southwest Missouri and become an assistant coach at the Springfield high school where his older brother, Chance, is principal.
Wistrom hasn't officially retired from the NFL, but said Monday he is "99.9 percent sure" he won't be playing an 11th season in the pros.
The Wistrom brothers and Parkview High School head coach Wes Beachler confirmed Monday that Grant Wistrom would be joining the Parkview staff.
"This is what we can do now," said Grant Wistrom, a Webb City native. "I like what [Beachler] is doing, I respect him as a coach, I respect his philosophies and I get to hang with my brother a little bit."
Chance Wistrom is excited to be back around his brother, too. He coached at Seneca High School from 1999-2003, but now gets to see his brother grow as a coach.
"We're excited to have him here, and he's excited to have the opportunity to be close to family and coach," Chance Wistrom said.

There are about 5 billion people available. Doesn't mean any one of them can help out.

Grant could be a big help. Just his fire alone.
