Defensive Gameplan?

Okay so this is a simple question. What was the defensive game plan? It absolutely and obviously wasnt to shut down the best WR in the league (i know dumb idea why would we consider shutting down their only legit receiver) and it wasnt to stop the running game ( yah just look at the stats). So what was our plan, I know we got many turnovers, but regardless, our defense gave up over 600 yards... let me repeat that.... over 600 yards.

We hear Garret and his peons say every other week "Dez was taken out of the game because they shadowed a safety over him all game..." blah blah blah blah. So this tells me, we decided to let calvin run wild and deal with the consequences?

Ok, off my soap box, but this is pretty obvious that we have a major malfunction in coaching/game planning/ overall preparations.

How many times does it need to be said. We do not have an NFL quality coaching staff. The game plans, especially on the road, leave a LOT to be desired. Garrett coaches scared. Anyone that doesn't see that isn't looking hard enough. Garrett seems to be about as inspiring as a case of the clap.

We have a major malfunction in talent. We could have spent months preparing for this game and it wouldn't have made any difference, we're just not that good and we see it every time we face a semi competent QB. The fact that this D kept us in the game at all when the offense was doing nothing is a testament to the great job our defensive coaches are doing with the pitiful talent they have to work with

I think for some reason the Cowboys thought the Lions were going to try and feature Reggie Bush. Pass catching backs have been killing the linebackers (Bruce Carter anyway). I think the Cowboys put a little too much on Brandon Carr's plate after he shut down DeSean Jackson a week ago.

I always wondeered the same thing, teams with 2 starts use them well and win against us. But other teams can take away Dez, Wittten, Williams with our OL (that was the excuse last year) but we can't seem to put up points with our offense. but we cannot take away 2 players from other teams and force them to go to their 3rd option. Just feels like we are out coached every week

we had a defensive gameplan?

This. Reminded me of a young 13yr old Madden player that never made any adjustments and just randomly picked plays as fast as he could to get off the play call screen and back to the game.

It was atrocious.
