Defensive help

It would be nice to put this kind of talent with Quinnen Williams wouldn't it. I would feel pretty good about matching up with Philadelphia's Oline in some trench wars.
Ya Faulk is a stud. Elite run defender who can rush inside and outside. Quincy Rhodes is a similar type to look out for. Coming on this year and could be a late 1st

His profile sounds similar to DLaw......strong run defender but limited pass rush skills. In other words, pair him with a team that already has a high-level pass rusher ( Steelers, Browns, Packers, Broncos?

He has gotten alot better this year. 8 sacks. He is primarily a bull rusher right now, but his tool kit is growing. So he could pretty play for anyone. DE's rarely give meaningful production in year 1 anyways. Even 1st rounders. Most first round DE's dont even get 4 sacks their rookie years

As we discussed yesterday, need that experienced veteran who has played in a similar scheme. This player would be the QB of the secondary, make sure everyone is lined up and knows what their responsibility is. I feel Blankenship is a good fit for that role.

You pair the veteran with a draft prospect and the safety position gets transformed overnight. They did show interest in the other Eagle Mukuba in the draft process, that is the type we need to target in the draft. A do it all type, slot, zone, man and a good tackler.

I think that is the type of edge you want to pair with Ez, more of a power rusher who is strong against the run. How similar is Faulk compare to Georgia M. Williams who came out this yr? I know he has struggled as a rookie, but as we have said, most do.

Out of range meaning they will have been taken by the time Dallas picks ? Downs is possibly a top 10 pick but Faulk the Edge at 285 is not someone to get pushed around I think he would be available to Dallas first round , they have 2 picks . I want both of them Caleb Downs is in the Hamilton mold , the Baltimore Raven . Think Ed Reed type of safety .
Downs is like Hamilton, but neither are deep FS's like Reed was. Better inside the box where they can do multiple things.

I'm almost certain the Cowboys will be targeting a pass rusher with their top pick. Question is how do they fill out their other defensive needs at: LB, CB, S. Personally, I would fix the front 7 first, then work on the secondary. Perhaps, a trade back to land that Safety as well.

Has anyone looked at Dennis-Sutton from Penn State. He isn't as big, but he is another power rusher.

Faulk is probably more of a 5T/LDE who can also play inside. 6 gap power rusher, whereas Williams is more of a 7 gap guy

I agree that its likely they target a DE is they with their top pick. That does make a trade back tricky. With that position you dont want to lose your targets

I think they could move the Packers pick, recoup a 3rd and still get one of the top 3 S's

I agree, top pick you want to keep, if you are going to try to trade back that would be with GB's pick. Right now we are picking at 14, with a chance to move up with our schedule.

Caleb Downs at safety takes over in center field day one and puts an end to this shoddy misstep safety play as WR’s have no concern after burning our corners .

And Keldrick Faulk at Edge with size 285 LBS can be a cornerstone with Ez Dallas second round steal this year . And bring Houston back next year a nice pick up ex Lion and Clowney who has really come on as of late .

Trading Parsons and somehow doubling up on premier defenders like Safety Downs and Edge Faulk goes a long way to bringing order to a garbage looking defense . Not to mention the 2 big trade pick ups this week .
