I think something that a lot of people are neglecting is the ability we are going to have along the defensive line. This unit is not the same old top heavy unit like years past. We have a bunch of average guys. And maybe that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Average guys with fresh legs can quickly become difference makers when they line up against offensive linemen who are playing double the amount of snaps.

Pair that with the abundance of bad offensive lines in the NFL, and you will see where this could work. Work really well.

All teams rotate their defensive lineman. We are not doing anything unique.

The problem is that the Cowboys may have the least talented d-lineman in the league. The only player who has any skins on the wall hasn't played in a year. That's where the problem is.

It might get us 8 wins but unless the offense is all world (Top 5 or better,) not much more is happening...

It will be much better than a year ago. But that's like being the valedictorian of summer school.

Yeah it sounds good in theory that you'll always have 4 fresh guys ready to throw at the opposing teams' OL.

But you could have the stamina of a Kenyan marathon runner and it won't mean much if you're a mediocre talent.

I rotate the tires on my car, but it does my car no good if they are all bald and flat.

No kidding. It also makes a difference if the tires are new and top-of-the-line and not second hand retreads.

I think the Cowboys d-line is somewhere in between and should get the job done.

These 2 facts combined with the fact that our safeties are putrid will give the same results as last year. We will feel like we are on the brink of being good until we actually play for something worth anything and get blown out....

I don't know ... we've got a few of those retreads (Mincey, McClain, Hayden, Edwards, J. Crawford) and our news ones weren't purchased as top-of-the-line (Bishop, Coleman). Even our top-of-the-line ones (Spencer, Melton, possibly T. Crawford) are patch jobs.

I guess we just have to hope that some of those turn out to be value buys like Selvie instead of donuts like Hayden.

5 losses by a total of 8 points. That's all I'm gonna say.
Late in the 4th Quarter. Cowboys down by 6.

Nick Hayden has been well rested on the bench for the first 3 quarters.

**First down and 10, a fully energized Nick Hayden pancakes Evan Mathis and Jason Kelce en route to a sack/forced fumble on Nick Foles. Cowboys recover.**

Yes, but the Cowboys did get away from heavy rotation in the 3-4 years. Ware, Spencer and Ratliff played about 90% of the snaps some of those years.

This years DLine is like having a new set of the least expensive tires.

Last year's DLine was like having the world's most expensive set of tires that somebody stuck with a knife and then somebody's 8 year old repaired them with his bicycle tire repair kit.

It think this year's DLine is closer to putting a new set of bicycle tires on your car. They're new, but you're still not going to go very far.

i don't think our DL is bad at all assuming spencer , melton , lawrence and brent come back strong. Its our LB's that might be the poorest in the NFL.
