Sign: Allen, DE
Sign:: Melton, DT
Draft: Donald or Jernigan (#16), DT
Draft: Dee Ford (#47) with a moveup

Starting DL: Allen - Melton - Donald - Ford

Rotation: Mincey - McClain - Selvie - Spencer or Draft Pick

What's your opinion ?

Note: I really don't care if we overpay some on Allen or Melton and may need
to extend a couple of Contracts to get it done but a 2 year deal for Allen
and a 4 year deal for Melton would make my day.

Crazier things have happened - if we got Donald and Ford 1,2 trade-up or not - I'd be a very happy camper.

Selvie
Melton -we will overpay him
Easley - 2nd rd pick
Barr - 1st rd pick

Donald and Melton would rotate at the 3-tech on base downs and both play in the nickel. You need a 1-tech DT on base downs.

What happened to Crawford?

If we trade up in the 2nd round, I would rather get Shazier at LB. Get another DL in the 3rd.

But I wouldn't complain about the OP option either.

Base downs...

RDE- Selvie/Mincey
3T- Melton/Donald
1T- McClain/Hayden
LDE- Crawford

Passing downs...

RDE- Selvie
3T- Melton
3T- Donald
RDE- Mincey

WDE - Allen, Selvie, Mincy
3DT - Melton, Donald
1DT - McClain, Hayden, 5th Round Pick
SDE - Crawford, Spencer, 3rd Round Pick

Without speculating who we might sign or draft, as of right now I would bet Selvie, Crawford, Wilber, Bass. But I don't know if Crawford or Bass have been cleared yet.

As it stands now, I don' think we have four "starters" for the defensive line. Allen and Melton would make two. You could probably stick Crawford at one of the others. Then plug the other hole in the draft, if you can.

Our Possible DLINE
G. SELVIE T. CRAWFORD B. BASS FA
G. SELVIE H. MELTON B. BASS T. CRAWFORD

Our Future DLINE
SCOTT CRICHTON AARON DONALD DOMINIQUE EASLEY AARON LYNCH
KORY EALY TIM JERNIGAN KELCY QUARLES DEMARCUS LAWRENCE

RDE - Selvie/Mincey
DT - Melton/Donald/Bass
DT - DaquanJones/McClain/Hayden
SDE - Crawford/CSmith or Crighton

Aaron Donald has 4.6 speed and can bench 225 lbs 35 times. He is explosive enough, fast enough and strong enough, to play any position on DL regardless of front. Not just idle speculation, Donald played all over the Dline at Pitt in both a 4-3 and 3-4 schemes. Tallied double digit sacks as 4-3 DL and 5.5 sacks as a NT in a 3-4. In every system will get tremendous penetration evidenced by his unreal TFL numbers.

Cowboys can't go wrong by drafting Donald.

Realistically, with the way this week is shaping up, you're looking at Allen, Melton, Draftee, Selvie

Rotation will be Crawford, Bass, Mincey/Draftee, Draftee

Possibility that Spencer comes back. Wouldn't hate having him here -- he's proven he can play at a high level as long as his knee checks out.
