You’d probably say our two best defensive games this year were agains the rams today and philly (when they were healthier)

Both of these teams have offensive firepower that can make you pay. Against both of these teams we were aggressive.... bringing pressure from everywhere.

Then we got lit up by the likes of darnauld.... Allen and Mitch Trubisky. In these games we sat back more.

My question is why are we not aggressive like this all the time? We have the personnel that can cover in the secondary. This needs to be our identity

A big problem in the recent losses was missed tackles. The Cowboys haven't really changed much defensively (which has been another problem).

We are one of those teams that have to wait until our *** is on fire! Plus the fact it's not the biggest Factor but our offense in some of those games decided not to try to play the game or to execute until the last 15 to 20 minutes of the game that does not make it easy on the defense but you make a good point they should be watching a lot of film of those two games and Hammer that home in team meetings this week

Hopefully this is a great confidence Builder what we've seen this movie before hopefully this is a different sequel and they finally woke up

We were sitting way back again today, Goff just couldn't make us pay for it.

against the bills and the bears we sat back to the point Troy aikman was asking why we were showing them what we were doing.

today we brought pressure... delayed pressure. Sending dbs from different places. Look at the Sean lee pick as an example. And yes sometimes we dropped out of it.

but we didn’t sit there and let the offense know we were sitting in soft coverage.

I’m saying mix it up! It’s proven it works. If a defense knows your agreesive.... even if you back out.... at least they know it’s your identity. They have to be weary of it.

Yep, it's still not an effective philosophy for causing turnover or wrecking havoc. Goff just looked bad today, and got greedy way too often. More experienced, better-coached QBs won't do that.

But they blitzed a lot today, and I think having that kind of aggression (and simply trusting the secondary) is a good thing. They'll need to be more aggressive moving forward like they were today.

Also, the defense stopped the run today, so that's why the BBDB was more effective than in recent weeks. The Eagles will run the ball better than the Rams, so it will be harder for the Cowboys to get off the field.

But, no matter what, I think the Cowboys can beat the Eagles, 'cause they're just not that good. Stop Ertz and all the screens, and keep Wentz in the pocket, and the Cowboys defense should have a good day. The Cowboys simply have more talent than the Eagles right now. If the Cowboys lose, they should be ashamed.
