I think our guys played very hard this year. I don't think the answer to my question is zero. But...

How many Cowboys (and which ones) would start on either of the two defenses playing in this Super Bowl?

I think Crawford and Scandrick would hang with pretty sizeable roles. I don't know if they would be starters...but I think they would play. Crawford fits Seattle, Scandrick fits New England. Could also make the case that Lawrence would push for some situational plays, but definitely not a starter.

McClain maybe, but it would be at strong or something I think. And a big maybe on it.

Got nothing after that.

I find these exercises to be foolish for the most part. Brady and Gronkowski are the only 2 Patriots I would take over our starting in 11 on offense. And they were one of the best offenses in the league and are in the Superbowl because of that offense.

It's how the pieces come together man.

Right and our pieces did not come together to be one of the best in the league defensively. The Patriots offense did, and they have arguably the greatest player of all time at the most important position on the unit, and a Hall of Fame level talent in Gronkowski. We have neither of those things defensively, which is why the sum of our parts ended up where it ended up.

So what's the essence of your question then?

My point is that there are only 2 positions on their offense that I would take over ours and at one of those positions our QB had a better season and yet they made the superbowl. And on the other side of the ball they weren't that much better than our defense, which was also second in the league in takeaways.

That NE team went to GB this year and was no where as competitive as we were. It's about how a lot of things come together. We don't have to be top 5 on offense and defense to make it to the game. I agree we need more players on defense, esp in the pass rush. But if our offense plays the same way next year and we lead the league in takeaways, we can win the superbowl with a middling defense.

I'd take Edelman over Williams at this point. That dude can move the chains.

It is funny how underrated Scandrick is here.

OS is the only guy we have that would start on Seattle D. But they don't have many, if any on offense I'd take.

You have to look at the overall makeup of the team. Team chemistry is a huge difference maker...

If your into chain moving, don't you take Ed over the immortal one aswell?

Edelman is a product of the geniuses system, the same way Welker was. Take them out of that, and it's a different story.

I'm keeping Williams. The man was our entire passing game in the playoffs.

But would you take him over Cobb?

Nevermind... I already know the answer.

The real question is who is Cobb going to be playing for next season.

Yes he would look good in a Cowboys uniform but I don't any way it can possibly happen.

Probably not.

Dallas has bigger needs elsewhere.
