The defense is too inexperienced and only has a few talented sessoned vets.

I'm actually surprised they've played as well as they have this season.

They'll be better next season just due to experience.

Lewis - Rookie
Awuzie - Rookie injured
Woods - Rookie
Taco - Rookie
Neal - Rookie
Ash - Pseudo Rookie
Jaylon - Pseudo Rookie
Collins - 2nd year, playing out of position at 1tech.
Brown - 2nd year
Frazier - 2nd year
Jones - As a Safety 2nd year
Heath - 1st time starter
Wilson - As a starter 2nd year
Irving - 3rd year

Below average veterans
Durant - Any talent he had is gone.
Mayowa - Below average.
Wilber - Spot player.

Seasoned veterans that are core players
DLaw
Scandrick
Lee - Injured
Hitchens - Decent when playing next to Lee.
Crawford - Playing well but an odd fit at RDE.

A couple of simple additions could easily make them legit next year:
1tech - Poe signed a 1-year, 8M contract this season.
LB - Zack Brown signed a 1-year, 2.5M contract this season.

I see atrocious LB play when Lee is out for starters, and an inability to stop the run when necessary in general.

And who's accountable for thinking Jeff Heath and a ton of rookies was a great idea?

If you think you might let some vets go, then a smart FO would draft them the year before they had to start.

I think the secondary has been about the same as last year.

LB has been the #1 problem.

2nd as a Safety

He’s been a safety since day one. He may have logged some snaps at corner his rookie year, but wasn’t he predominantly a safety then, coming down to cover TEs in man, like he does now?

Lets hope the front office doesn't believe this in the offseason and we trot out another under-talented defense next year. Sure, some of those young players can develop but an influx of serious talent is needed. Not a piece here or there but a major rebuilding. Starting with an entire new set of starting LBs.

No, he played CB as a rookie.

I don't think there's any question but what the Dallas defense is a work in transition that will require additional talent to be added in the areas of LB and the DL as well. Perhaps another safety might help also. Credit goes to Walker for his comments as to the youth being a factor in the growing pains being suffered there. Nevertheless, they are on an upward trend in terms of the pass rush and that's a good thing, no doubt. There's still room for improvement and I hope that need will be served in the next draft (along with a speedy WR.)
