Defensively we are moving up.

Other than QB rating, it is probably the best.

But the great thing about QB rating is that it incorporates YPA, along with interceptions per attempt and touchdowns per attempt.

Actually, the current formula for QB Ratings is flawed and is not a very good measurement for grading QBs. It is based on stats that were available 30 years ago and even the formula itself is based on standards from the 50s & 60s. Or do you really think that Jake Delhomme is the 3rd best QB in the league right now?

Now that more stats are readily available (STATS Inc has all of these and more), I would like to see them take into account: dropped passes, INTs that were tipped or went off the WRs hands, fumbles, fumbles lost, sacks, sack yards, 3rd/4th down %, and 1st downs.

And possibly even things like: yards lost to penalty or PI yards, rushing yards & TDs by the QB, batted passes, passes nearly intercepted, etc.

Oh, sure, you could come up with something better, but it's the best existing stat that is publicly available.

I'm not a stat guy so I just go by observation.

Our points allowed by the defence has gone from 35, to 20 to 10 to 0 which is a trend I like big time.

We are stopping teams when we have to stop them. On the INT last week, we did what Wade told us he wanted, stop them regardless of where they get the ball.

Just from watching the team play, we have improved tremendously in just one month.

The defense is only 32 total yards away from being in the top 5 in the yardage category.

Pts/Game = 18, Rank = 11
Passing/Game = 299, Rank = 15
Rushing/Game = 80.5, Rank = 7
Total Yards/Game = 299.5, Rank = 8

Even with our abysmal start against the Giants we are starting to pick it up. After the Buffalo game we should be even better statistically.
I would certainly hope we're picking it up against the offenses we've been facing.

No caveat necessary. The last time I checked the Cowboys did not decide who they play.

Agreed, Dallas is playing hard on defense and it's refreshing to see!

You know...while I was watching the Patsy game and how they look real good execution style, something to me was missing when I thought how the Cowboys have been playing...and that is speed.

Yes, Moss is fast, yes Brady is a surgeon, yes Mumbles is a genius...but to me they just did not look like they have the aggression or the fun or the fury of the game like this current Cowboy team has...they just look like a team that has that mentality of, "yes, we are the Patriots...we can just go into a game and intimate the opponent because we are so great"...

In other words, I was not impressed and was actually bored...

Wait until they come with that "we are too good attitude" into Texas Staidum...watch and see!

That actually reminds me of both the late 70's and the 90's cowboys. They did carry it like, "yes, we are the Cowboys and there is nothing you can do to stop us" and we always referred to it as that "Cowboy swagger". With that said, I much more prefer this fun style that Wade has instilled...so long as it has the same end results - multiple SB victories.

i dont care about beating NE in October. I care about beating NE in February.
