It's year 7 for Dak.

If you believe he is good right now 1 playoffs is not going to change that.

If you believe he's not good right now then 1 playoffs is not going to change that.

If 1 playoffs does change that for you one way or the other then congrats, you've wasted 7 years defending a point you was willing to abandon because of a couple games. .
I am with you on the whole Dak thing! I am not a fan either, but hypothetically speaking. What happens if Dak wins his next 4 games and wins it all? I know I have a better chance of winning the Mega millions lottery twice in one week, but if he happens to guide this team to a Super Bowl victory, he will be our starting QB for the next few years. He will have earned the job by then and would have been worth the signing. One Super bowl victory carries a lot of weight.
Having said all that, I think we get bounced out of the playoffs Monday night and would like to see Dak and his contract gone the following day.

If the Cowboys lose it won’t be on Dak and Parsons. It will be because the Joneses refused to go after quality free agents and missed on Joseph/Tolbert in the draft. Since the Joneses refuse to pay free agents, the Cowboys can’t afford to miss at all in the draft. The Cowboys lose again early nothing will change. No coaching changes unless Quinn is hired by the Broncos. Dak will get an extension to open cap space. Zeke will remain on the on the roster if he takes a pay cut. The Cowboys are always a win the Super Bowl or Bust team. They remain the talk of the league no matter what.

This also factors in…

I am with you brother. I am on Payne train. We should back up the brinks truck for him. Let Zeke, Tyron, Pollard, and Shultz go. Extend Dak and the money will be there for this game wrecker!!!!!

This game is just one step closer to an actual defining moment. Beat a good team on the road to make it to an NFC championship game. That would be pretty boss. A win against Tampa would be great but it changes nothing. A loss also changes nothing. It would be just another loss in an already long line.

Not sure Monday’s game could be pegged as a “defining moment” for either player, but in terms of national perception, it certainly has more relevance for Dak.

Not helping Dak’s cause is his recent run of INTs that make him headline fodder for every sports media outlet, the quarter century plus run of Cowboy playoff ineptness, and his salary which is set to be the 2nd largest in the NFL in 2023 (only behind the Master of Massage).

Make no mistake, if he lays an egg Monday it will be easier for football pundits to counter, “Dak is top tier quarterback” statements. But he does have a couple things in his corner. He’s got JJ, who’s loyal to HIS guys to a fault, and he’s got a couple years left on the contract bone. Since it’s a “what have you done for me lately” world, the Boys can fall to the Bucs on Monday and Dak will still have a window to prove his worth.

As for Micah – no worries. If the front office can pull a 180° turn and do the right thing in building a legit deep playoff run roster, Micah’s defining moment will be exceptional.

Yea, I mean I’d love to see us attack our weaknesses in FA for once but Ill
hold my breath.

I’d sign Payne, push hard to trade for a WR and sign an OLmen.

We’d then be free in the draft.

I don't care if we win, I just want to hear their excuses and their plan for getting better next year and the year after. That will get me pumped for the next few years of the same thing.

You mean do what the Eagles did last year? I can’t imagine the Joneses going all in. We need to save Cap space for Tyler and Sam in 2026.

Sign Payne, Hopkins will be released. Sign him. WR and DL fixed. Now go into the draft and draft BPA. Done.

Or what the Chiefs, Bills, 49ers etc do.

All the best teams are active in FA to bring in quality talent…except us.
