Deion Sanders calls out son on Twitter

(CNN)Deion Sanders is such a dad.
The NFL legend called out Deion Sanders Jr. on Twitter for saying he only eats "hood doughnuts."
In response, the elder Sanders -- in front of his 912,000 followers -- reminded his son he has a trust fund, a condo and his own clothing line called "Well Off."
"You're a Huxtable with a million $ trust fund. Stop the hood stuff!" Sanders followed it up with another tweet that included the hashtags #versacesheets #Huxtable and #Trustfund.

He could have but perhaps he was trying to make a general point. Hard to know what the point of that is without knowing more about the situation. I try not to judge parents and their methods. The job of parenting is hard enough. I probably wouldn't have done it this way but maybe he has his reasons?

I know he's very "media" friendly. Has TV shows & such. All about the attention.

I don't think it was about boasting about money only to point out to his own son he has no clue about the "Hood" or being poor.

Oh I definitely got the jist of what Neon was conveying, but he could have left out the millions his son is set to inherit.

That was the point, to show he had a privileged up bringing or as he put it "Huxtable" from the Cosby Show. So when his kid is talking about the hood and things of that nature just a reminder, son you had it good and easy so give up on the street cred routine

Wrong he is humble enough to know where he came from and the struggle he has had to endure along with the few roadblocks he has removed from his kids paths.

I like Deion but he loves attention. It's just the way he is.

And in today's world it's easy pickings to get noticed.

At the time, I was living in Cape Coral Florida and Deion was going to North Fort Myers High. Later, he went on to FSU. He was not what you might expect. He was actually pretty low key until his Jr. year. He got with an agent and he went from a pretty subdued dude to Neon Deion. I wonder what he's like in his personal life. If he's Neon or if he's the guy before Neon?

For most, life in general is a struggle. But being humble has gone out the door.
