Deion says we're 2 players away, who are those two players?

If we only got two players I would hope for a guard and a cb...:starspin

This team is three players away - CB/FS, RG, another good pass-rusher (DE/OLB).

I wouldn't bet the farm on it, but I think there is a decent chance that Watkins will develop into a decent FS.

I wouldn't bet the farm on it, but there is at least half a chance that one of the young DLs already on the roster will develop into a pressure player who compliments Ware (e.g., Hatcher).

I'm thinking that a new Right Guard is the #1 item on the free agency/draft wish list.

(back up QB is an obvious must, too)

Nothing intelligent has ever followed these 2 words.

:laugh2:

You should have heard him going on about how great Zimmer was one day on 103.3...

Hey Sarge. Don't you think it's about time to take down the Christmas tree?

Lazy freak.

We are several players away from winning the Super Bowl. Parcells brought in bigger players, but at the cost of speed. Speed is what made us the "Team of the 90s", especially on defense.
We need 2 OGs, 1 LT, 1 FS or CB (depending if Henry is really willing to switch to FS), at least 1 more pass rusher, and someone else to hold for FGs, now that Romo is the starting QB.
So, that's at least 6 players we need to win the SB. Now, that could change, & I think it will. Carp really came on the last few games of the season, and could man the SOLB spot. Hatcher is a natural PR, in my book, and will keep getting better. The only area I believe will only get older & even worse, is the OL. We need to bring a Steinbach type in during FA. We also need a Staley, Grubbs, Ramirez, etc. in the draft. It wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if the first 3-4 picks had 2-3 OL. (Gotta have that FS or CB in there somewhere).

I think the coaching staff was/is pretty comfortable with Watkins he just needs more experience. I think Jerry has finally realized that they need more pass rushers to take the D to the next level.

We just dropped a fortune on Kosier so if we get 1 guard I'll be very happy..

Freeney isn't going anywhere. If they can't work out a deal, they're gonna franchise him.

Chad Hutchinson and Kareem Larrimore.
Dude, you're totally wrong. We need Kenyon Rambo and Daleroy Stewart.

I don't think Sanders is far off.

The defense is ALOT better than it showed.....ALOT better. If it stays patient with the 3-4 and adds someone opposite DWare....it will be among the best.

The offense does need someone to replace Rivera...but we are talking about the fourth best attack in the NFL and I am going to predict right now Jones rushes for 1400 yds if healthy next season.

I hope you are correct, but how can you say this when, in fact, they were not? You are saying they did not play well on purpose?

I don't think we payed all that much.

Either way, you can't let past mistakes effect what you need going forward.

When you take a few steps back, it's easy to see the real personel holes/needs.

It's OL.
There is good reason to believe that we are in good shape at OT.
Adams and Columbo were recovering from injuries. Stands to reason they may be/should improved in 2007. I think we have solid back up in McQuistan.
I also think Geruode at OC was perhaps our best player.

That leaves OG.
Our running game faltered down the stretch. Especially in Seattle.
OG's fule the running game.
We can't go wrong allocated serious resources to this position.
Top FA money guy and 1st or 2nd Pick.
I want two OG's to compete with Kosier and Proctor.

The more important issue here is protecting Romo.
I believe he is our franchise QB.
We need to all we can to keep him healthy and productive. In that order.

We make a large and effective investment at OG, we will improve the run game and his pass protection.

There are defensive issues on this team. I think the majority of them will be solved with the change in coaching and scheme.

You can't point to one area on the defensive roster and say OH! we got to get this. There's no gapping hole.

OG is a gapping hole.
