Moon's Top 5 CBs

Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon ranks his top five cornerbacks of all time.

1. Mike Haynes

"He used great technique. He played the bump-and-run pretty much the whole game, which is a challenge in itself. He was so long and had a good, long stride that he could run with any receiver."

2. Deion Sanders

"He had tremendous catch-up speed. Even when you thought you had him beat, if you threw the ball out there he would catch up with it -- he'd catch up with the player and he'd catch up with the ball at the same time. I've never seen anybody that burst on the ball the way he did."

3. Rod Woodson

"He was a very cagey player; he had a real sense for where the football was going to be. Not only was he a great defensive back, but he'd also make big plays for you in the return game."

4. Mel Blount

"A big, physical corner who just overpowered receivers. He very rarely let them get off the line of scrimmage. The rules back in the day were made for him. He'd just clobber a receiver all the way down the field and take him out of the game just by pure intimidation."

5. Willie Brown

"In a great Raiders secondary when they had Jack Tatum, George Atkinson and all those guys, Willie Brown was a guy that stood out because he got those interceptions. When the ball was in the air, he had an innate ability to go get it and very rarely dropped them."

Stupid list. Deion should unquestionably be #1 and to be fair, Darrell Green should be in the top 5.
