Del Rio fired

I always thought Gruden was overrated. Especially in Tampa Bay where it really turned sour

Hard to pass up ownership interest... That stuff doesn’t come around often if the reports are true.

The Cowboys should make that offer to Jim Harbaugh. 10 million per year + 1% ownership.

:omg:

Hiring of Gruden always sets new trends in the NFL. Like when the Bucs traded draft picks to get him as Head Coach, and now you have a piece of a franchise. This is like getting a free time share of a high priced condo in Disney World.

They went 6-10 and we went 9-7 without our best player for six games. That record might have gotten Garrett fired despite Zeke’s situation.

But didn't Carr mess his knee up last year? I thought the was a 10 win team then.

They were a 12 win team last season and took a huge fall this year with only 6 wins. Carr hurt his knee late last season. He started 15 games this season and with the addition of Marshawn Lynch the Raiders were expected to take the next big step after going 12-4 last season. Carr had a down year after signing a mega contract. With them going 6-10 it’s not surprising Del Rio was fired. He’s not a good head coach just look how much better the Jags are since they booted him.

Wow that was fast. But yet JG sticks around.
And yet, Garrett survives
This has nothing to do with Garrett. Their situations are different. Remember 4 months ago when everyone thought Oakland would win the west and challenge NE for the SB? They went 6-10 and are a dead team in Oakland with their move to Las Vegas coming up. Clearly their ownership didn't think that was the best way to woo a new fan base.

Rumor has it they're offering him $10 million a year and an ownership share of the franchise.

Whether he wants to coach again is another matter.
That's a joke he isn't worth that

Sounds like gruden will be the head coach and John Morton the jets oc will be his coordinator. Interesting to see who he hires to run his defense.

Gruden is the most overrated coach of my lifetime. I have never understood the clamoring for him. He makes sense in Oakland but it’s not like they are hiring parcells, belichick etc, people with track records of turning around a franchise.

I actually think Pat Shurmur is a better candidate than any of the names being mentioned including McDaniels, Patricia etc.

I would have liked shurmur a few years ago when there was rumors of holmgren coming to Dallas. Shurmur would have run the offense and then could have moved into the head coach position.

Oh well. There are so many changes happening around the league there will be a million new coaches
