Did anyone watch him play tonight? Never seen him before or even heard of him, but he looked pretty good tonight. He's got size and a rocket arm. His pass blocking was horrible, but he stood tall in the pocket. Good poise.

LOTS of dropped passes though.

I wouldn't mind bringing him into camp as an undrafted FA.

He will be drafted.

YOu think so?

He definitely has the measurable. 6'6", 230 lbs, and a strong strong arm.

STill... it's only division 1AA so he may not get drafted.

He is well regarded by Mel Kiper as his fifth ranked senior QB. That's a pretty good indication that he will get selected.

I think after Romo a new trend will be to look at smaller schools in hopes that lightning might strike again.

Wow he pass blocks for himself?

So was Matt Moore.

He does look pretty good. He'll probably have a good game next Fri. against my alma mater - App St. There D leaves alittle to be desired. But he better hope to score alot more than 20 pts. if he's gonna hang with Armanti.

Matt Moore should have been drafted too.

There is a serious problem in this league evaluating the position. Every team should invest more into scouting it and above all, coaching it.

Somewhere -

Ricky Santos is preparing to prove the pundits wrong like Romo did.....

The problem with scouting college QBs is judging pocket presence. In pocket mobility is what separates successful QBs from busts.

Some team is going to take a chance on a stiff like Anthony Morelli because he's going to go to the combine and star in the underwear olympics. He'll pass the eye test, he'll measure well then he'll step on the field and make every throw one could ask for.

He'll line up under center once camp starts and teams will see why he was a stiff in college. He makes Bledsoe look almost clairvoyant in sensing a rush.

Contrast that with a guy like Romo. He's not physically imposing, his arm strength is mediocre, he's not very swift of foot (slow actually if you use the 40 as a barometer) but he's slick in the pocket and his eyes/brain seem to process things quickly. Plus, it's not just Romo. Recent NFL history is littered with somewhat successful QBs who don't literally "measure up" such as Jeff Garcia.

The morale; teams should spend more time on looking at tangible measurements that seem intangible to most. More pysch testing, more visual processing testing and more "stress" level testing.
