DeMarco Murray visited the Cowboys

I'm OK with him in the later rounds. RB not a premium position.

He doesn't fit what we do unless we're going to more zone blocking.

He is a step below awful running between the tackles.

Looks good. Has good numbers (decline in YPC, though). Will put in the work. Isn't good enough to hack it in the NFL. Somehow his vision got worse as his career went along.

He's too spindly for a RB and has been injury prone throughout his college career. It's not likely his health will fare any better once he's in the NFL. He's a good candidate to have a short career in the pros. No thanks.

I agree, this is not a player that fits our offense. He does what Felix does but not as well. Has been injury prone throughout his career. Unless we are moving Felix, I don't see the value of this pick.

Dependent on where he would be taken, I see a lot of value in Murray. I'm not saying he's Chris Johnson, but folks said the very same criticisms regarding him (can't run between the tackles/always looking to bounce it outside). Murray is a very good kick returner and accomplished receiver on top of his run game. He has value.

No question he has some value . . . but he's slotted by many to be a 2nd or 3rd rounder. That's too high a risk for someone who's proven himself likely to spend the lion's share of his time on the trainer's table IMHO. Some team will probably step up and get burned in the longrun. I just hope it's not Dallas.

I honestly think the Sooners messed up by not making him a receiver.

That seems like it would be more of his natural position.

If Barber is gone, I would love to see him battle it out with Felix for carries. This guy is explosive when healthy.

Amen, bro. Murray has the build of a receiver far moreso than a RB. That'd probably afford him a much better chance to shine in the NFL with at least some measure of longevity. He stayed hurt in college despite never having a full measure of carrying the load. I hate to think what misery the NFL's LBs are likely to inflict on him but I wish him well somewhere other than "Big D."

I don't want him , Helu or any other Big XII RB from this past year.

Now watch him all the sudden stay healthy and destroy for someone like the Packers or Steelers who would know how to use him...

Hmm, that makes total sense, especially after coming off a year (2010) in which he carried the ball 282 times and caught another 71 passes (13 game season), while also returning kicks.

But I guess that ain't a full load.

He also crushes a guy like Mark Ingram in terms of career touches.

Agree.

And I hope we don't waste a pick on this guy. He'd just be a very poor man's Felix Jones.

Congrats to him. He wasn't injured in 2010, so, if you prefer, simply overlook the fact that he was injured in '07, '08 and '09. In '07, it was a left foot injury and a dislocated right kneecap. In '08, it was a ruptured hammy just before he was sidelined for the BCS Championship. In '09, it was a hamstring injury and an ankle sprain. Seems to me like there's a pattern here. To me, he's a high-risk, high-reward type. Not so sure I'd wanna spend a 2nd or 3rd rounder for that.

He missed six games of a possible 55 in his college career. My gosh, let's not act like he's Bob Sanders who's missed more games than he's actually played in his career.

I'm not going to beat up a kid for getting banged up a bit considering the amount of touches he was garnered rushing (759 carries), receiving (157 receptions) and kickoff returns (58 returns).

As to your point about not taking him in the 2nd/3rd round, I agree. Running back is not a position of dire need for us, but I wouldn't be opposed to using a pick on him at some point from the 4th round or beyond (ie. MBIII, Tashard Choice...) should he last that long. He has value as a kick returner and offers value as a 3rd down back for us and also insurance should the Cowboys depart with Choice next season.

sometimes you take up too much time stating facts and making rational arguments. Just stop it now!

Nailed it right out of the park.

So you would take this guy?

He would make a nice slot receiver/rb in the 4th round.
