END QUARTER 2

DeMarco Murray visited the Cowboys

I'd take Murray in 5th or 6th round. Gotta turn Barber or Choice into picks though, if possible.

He missed six games of a possible 55 in his college career. My gosh, let's not act like he's Bob Sanders who's missed more games than he's actually played in his career.

I'm not going to beat up a kid for getting banged up a bit considering the amount of touches he was garnered rushing (759 carries), receiving (157 receptions) and kickoff returns (58 returns).

As to your point about not taking him in the 2nd/3rd round, I agree. Running back is not a position of dire need for us, but I wouldn't be opposed to using a pick on him at some point from the 4th round or beyond (ie. MBIII, Tashard Choice...) should he last that long. He has value as a kick returner and offers value as a 3rd down back for us and also insurance should the Cowboys depart with Choice next season.
A lot there to agree with. If he falls to us on Saturday, great.

So you would take this guy?

he has value at the right point in the draft and with any offense.

Bingo! I think we're in agreement here. My assessment was based solely on taking him as a 2nd or 3rd round pick. However, some team needing a RB will likely take him in the 2nd or 3rd round despite his history of injuries. They'll take a chance on him continuing to be productive in the pros and staying off of the trainer's table. It wouldn't be in Dallas' best interest to take a chance on him early considering their needs in other areas are far more crucial. If he were to somehow slide to the 4th or 5th round, most any team would likely consider him. His credentials are too impressive not to afford a deal like that.

he doesn't seem like a fit, esp considering we already have FJ. HOWEVER, I think Demarco Murray is one of the most dynamic players in this draft not projected to go in the top 12. I'd go so far to say that if he didn't get injured in the Texas game of that season, OU goes undefeated, wins the NC, and scores about 7 more TDs on the season than they did, even though they still set the season scoring record.
I think DM will be really great player with the ball in the flats or he'll be injured so often he'll be a borderline bust. Wicked talent, but you have to use him correctly and pray he stays healthy. However, he very well could end up having a better pro career than college. Dynamic player....when healthy

Eh. He'll be a return man and bottled up RB.
