Yes on both accounts. I'm sure Wiitten's jaw was uncomfortable but it is hands to the face if you hit him there. As for his spleen, I have never ruptured one so I have no clue what that feels like.

The difference between the shoulder of a running back and that of a DE are different. An RB can still get the job done with a bum shoulder - it hurts like hell, but only when you're tackled and you can still get yardage.

For a DE, you have to put your body on a really big player immediately, and then drive through that to reach your goal. If one power punch from a tackle will double the player over, what's the point? He can't be effective at his job.

Like I said broken is one thing, bruised is another when you have players playing with far worse injuries no matter the position.
Unless he wasn't cleared to play it's disappointing that a rookie who just got back found a way not to play.
I'm a hockey fan, those guys play with just about every thing and take hits at greater speeds. I just like guys that can set aside the pain and contribute. This game matters and he could be a help.

So you would have been OK drafting Lawrence at #34 if that was their original pick?

If it meant not having to give up a 3rd, sure, why not.

But when you give up a 3rd round pick, how you judge the pick and player becomes totally different.

So the two keys, one I'll repeat:

1) We don't know what the injury is, so any conversation about his make up is likely premature.
2) You won't like to hear it, but there is again a difference in taking a check and playing DE. They do play through things, but they aren't getting punched 80% of the play by a 6'6" behemeth. They may get some body work, but it's still a difference.

So the QB spitting up blood on the sideline is no biggie.................Romo also collapsed in the lockerroom after the 49ers game when they discovered one of his lungs was punctured from a broken rib, but I guess that is no biggie either.

Yea, a bruised chest is way more significant of an injury:facepalm:

Perhaps you can enlighten us on exactly what the injury is and the degree of severity so we can all understand your ranting.

Going off the report of a bruised chest, if there is a different report that shows the injury to be more severe, plus provide link................

Damarcus Lawrence is shoved around every single play. Tony Romo is not.

There is a huge difference.

According to that logic, they should always trade down from their 2nd round pick to get more picks.

They screwed up not trading down from their 1st round pick. Just think of how many 3rd round picks they would have ended up with if they traded the 1st and 2nd for 3rd rounders. Heck they could have traded the next years 1st and 2nd for some more 3rd rounders.

I have not read any news that is why I asked. Bruised chest sounds pretty generic to me.

I completely understand where you're coming from.
We want warriors, not wimps out on that field.

But consider this:
The kid is still learning on the job and you can see his slow reactions to the snap because he's thinking thinking thinking.

Now add an injury that may not be debilitating, but it slows him down even further.
Now he's a detriment to the team.
Maybe the coaching staff also sees this during practice.
I don't know, you don't know, we don't know BUT:

You still want him out there so he can be a warrior yet hurt the team because he's both mentally slowed learning the game and physically slowed from injury?

I'm not sure I do.

Romo has played with broken ribs, broken wrist, collapsed lung, herniated disk, and spinal fractures.............he even has spit up blood on the sideline during games..................and DeMarcus cant play because his chest hurts?

Are you freaking kidding me?.......................was he as soft as Charmin at Boise as well?

So that's nothing? Its easy to play with broken ribs like Romo? I have news for you. Appreciate what Romo is doing it because there's only a handful of guys that would do it especially at quarterback. That should not be the bar. Its a lot easier to do that when you have 54 million guaranteed than when you do on your rookie contract.

It hurts to even walk with broken ribs let alone play football. That's credit to Romo. Not a diss towards Demarcus or anyone else.

That makes no sense. What does that have to do with giving up 2 high picks for 1 player?

The Value of pick #34 is approximately equal to the value of #47 + #78. It makes no sense that it would be OK to use #34 on Lawrence if that was their original pick but not OK to trade up to get #34.

If #47 and #78 are so much better than trading up for #34, then by that logic they should always trade down if they have a pick around #34 to get 2 later picks; however, I don't normally see people complaining when they don't trade down.
