Demarcus Lawrence on trash talking Eli Manning: It's not personal, it's business
By: Dan Benton | 2 hours ago
At several points this offseason, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Demarcus Lawrence has taken unprovoked aim at the New York Giants and, more specifically, veteran quarterback Eli Manning.
Lawrence has gone off about how he can sense fear out of Manning, and even credited the two-time Super Bowl MVP with helping him secure a lucrative long-term contract extension.
In total, Lawrence has just 3.5 sacks against Manning in eight career games, but much of that has come in recent meetings after being completely shut down earlier in his career.
Needless to say, Lawrence is feeling himself a bit, but wants both Manning and Giants fans to know that it’s nothing personal, merely business.
“I’m never out to disrespect [Manning] or his team,” Lawrence told the New York Post. “That’s not my character. But when you see something funny on Instagram, why not tease him a little bit, get our fans excited for the season? And we’re here now for the game, so there ain’t no more talking.

Far cry from the good old days when defensive ends hated the opposing QB and threw wreaths into their locker room.
