Mayowa was probably our best pash rusher down the stretch last year....i m not surprised.

He was, but IMO part of that was DLaw and Crawford being out. To me he looks like has been very well coached in the offseason and is carrying out his assignments well, plus getting the pass rush with his physical skills.

DLaw has never been a lazy player.

People got stereotypes. People say stuff that is not supported. Don't believe them
I never said he was lazy. I like Lawrence. I think he's their best lineman. But it is a contract year. fact.

Then why even mention it being a contract year? Unless you're just saying it for no reason at all there has to be a reason behind it. Typically when the "contract year" argument is brought up it's to insinuate that the player is lazy or unmotivated any other point in his career besides his contract year so he can get paid... I mean, surely you understand that otherwise what's even the point of mentioning it.... just like to hear the sound of the keyboard keys?

Mayowa looks a bit bigger to me as well. Looks more like a DE now than the OLB we signed away from Oakland.

It was a great start for Lawrence. He looked like a different guy out there. Now it's a matter of seeing if he was that good, or Bobby Hart, the Giants right tackle, was that bad.

But if Lawrence looks this good all season, he's in line for a nice payday. Here or somewhere else.

You don’t have to be lazy to have extra motivation before a pay day. It’s human nature and not necessarily an indictment just a run of the mill observation.

If he gets 15 sacks in his "xxxxxxxx year" I will be just as happy. And the Cowboys will sign him to many more years. All good.

Maybe they should give all their lineman one year deals so it's always a xxxxxxxx year for everyone. There. I didn't even say it once.

Hmmm... I don't think you quite understand that it wasn't the fact that you said "contract year" that was the point of my reply but you can keep censoring it out if you like, that's totally mature.

D Lawrence can be a 8-10 sack a year guy when healthy. Whenever he's been healthy, he's performed. Two sacks in the playoffs in 2014. 8 sacks in 2015. 2 sacks last night. If he stays healthy our pass rush will be significantly better than last year along with an improved Collins. If he performs well, he's getting re-signed, likely similar deal to what Nick Perry got from the Packers.

Sturm has an interesting point in his article today - if DLaw ends up with 10+ sacks this year, he could be a consideration for our franchise tag ($16.9m this year for DE, maybe $18 next?).

Back problems scare me, so that might be a good option unless he's willing to take a Nick Perry deal like @armadillooutlaw says above

That play where he threw the RT to the ground and then immediately tackled the RB on the screen was vintage D-Ware.

Tank was a monster last night. If he plays like this all season it's going to be some kind of breakout year.

He is taking the Spencer route.

Kinda just be a guy and then in his contract year he goes off.

Probably the worst OT's he'll face all year, but it was nice to see him FINALLY have an impact.
